AC - what would be the implication of someone just going ahead and fitting these 'out of the box' with the kind of tolerance issue you found? Clutch performance, pedal feel/operation, perhaps some out-of-balance? Interesting stuff, so thanks for sharing!

The pressure plates seem to be the biggest imbalance issues. The horn heigh mismatch is a situation that’s not ideal but the clucth will work. However different kits have different horn height requirements depending on the geometry used. Part 2 will cover this in more detail. You could be quite a way off the maximum clamping pressure
