When I first discovered kpop TOP got me into it, I thought he was a solo artist (discovered his single turn it up) but after studying him and the group I always knew there may be some shit about them in the future to come out, especially with seungri. weird dynamic of whether he was the problem or if the group members were bullying him. Sencondly they should be chosen based on there talent such as singing and acting, not based on rather they can be forced into prostitution or not. Contract should clearly mention that if they are being forced into prostitution or sexually harassed, the penalty for breaking the contract will not apply. The contract clearly mention what kind of sexual nature of work will be required and to what extent, e.g. vulgar dance with lets say 60% clothing or something like that etc. These are just few things that can be done.

I feel like GD knew Seungri was trying to slowly break away from BigBang, not as a group but the members themselves so he could run his 'businesses' without them being so close. Which actually did happened. They wouldn’t have risked their own career and reputation just to cover for Seungri, no matter how much they cared about him. Because this kind of scandal doesn’t compare with a marijuana scandal. This was not something that they could have just ignored and pretend they know nothing. GD has trained for 11yrs, YB for 6 yrs, the most out of all the members ( the rest of them have just 1 yr of training or less ), I really don’t see them risking all of their hard work just to cover for Seungri. In all honesty, seungri looking more and more shady wasn't started from one thing. it was a collection of things and behaviors that led to him looking more and more suspicious until he was caught. it wasn't just him moving out of the dorms. it wasn't just him starting his own business. it wasn't just him branching out to other careers. it wasn't just him going overseas a lot. it wasn't just him partying a lot. it wasn't just him roleplaying the real life great gatsby. it wasn't just him opening up Burning Sun and co-owning it. it wasn't just his career being a DJ. It wasn't just his flash drive with hundreds of folders filled with porn under actress' names. it wasn't just his members giving out cryptic messages about how he should be careful. It wasn't just him ignoring everyone who was close to his, big bang or his family. All of these things don't sound susipcious by themselves, but if we add them altogether, there is a picture to be seen and it's not pretty. it's a series of actions that show seungri as a man who cared about business and having fun partying like every shady rich person in a movie. He prioritized making money, but also having fun rich orgies (joke but possibly true lmao). which makes him careless and that carelessness is what made him get caught in the end. and like the Great Gatsby, Seungri is a man who went to the top of the world only to fall down from his own pedestal. He is an Icarus who flew to close to the sun and burned to ashes in shame. now he sits behind bars for various charges including prostitution (from that great gatsby party), embezzlement, bribery, illegal gambling, and violation of foreign currency exchange and food hygiene laws.

But he was outshined by Taeyang when it comes to dancing and BIGBANG didn't focus on dancing because T.O.P is really bad at it and would ruin the group's choreography. In the end, Seungri's talent was outshined by the other members and he realized that, that's why he tried really hard in other aspects like entrepreneurship.

One thing I feel like ppl aren't noticing is that TOP said 'we weren't like this in the past'. He said they came together bc of their passion for music. That means in the beginning seungri was (probably) a good person just looking to preform on stage yet somewhere along the way he got involved with the wrong ppl and his morals got more and more corrupt. I think is hyungs really tried to warn him and look out for him but he just got so greedy at some point and saw himself as untouchable. It's been so long but I'm honestly still in so much shock from all this. Like I'm just hoping I wake up from a horrible dream and seungri is the person we used to know. It's crazy how much I loved him and stood up for him when I felt he was being wronged by yg and now I just look back feel regret. I still love all the other members from the bottom of my heart and I'm hoping bigbang (ot4) can find a way to continue their passions despite all this. Most importantly I hope seungri has learned from all this and starts to really work on himself and his morals. He need need to understand how he hurt his fans, friends, and family. He needs to be punished accordingly and apologize for his wrongdoings and really fix the way he lives his life. I personally could never wish death upon another person, I'm just hoping he retires, learns his lesson and does what needs to be done to right his wrong. (YG included)

Jaycey Allen I'm a month late to responding (because I didn't want to obsess over this), but this is so true. I don't think Seungri is inherently a bad person, but I do think he got extremely lost and unfortunately turned into the person he is today. At some point, as BIGBANG grew, the so-called "power" went to his head. He's a prime example of what the entertainment industry could do to a person if they don't watch out. It's like he was a good kid but he really did sign his soul away.

This is so inconsequential but something that always stuck out to me was their relationship with kids. Specifically, Lee Haru, the daughter of Tablo from Epik High. Haru loved spending time with and seeing every single member of big bang but Seungri. I don't think I've ever seen a clip of her with him, even in a dressing room with him in the background. I always found it a bit strange, especially since I saw her seek out everyone else at least once. I've learned that how a kid feels about a person instinctively says a lot about them.

I feel like I've always kind of lowkey picked up on subtle things I guess, 'cause to be honest, I never really liked Seungri. I love all the members equally, always have, but not Seungri, I never took a liking to him and never knew why. I was the same way. I told my friend this, and she helped clarified things for me. The other 4 always seem more genuine. Ex. Daesung may be the "ugly" one in the group, but his humor and vocals are what makes him Daesung. Seungri was always the sales person who tries hard to sell you somerhing. He didnt have any good qualities. He's just average...and his personality was meh. He tries to overcompensate himself by being on all these shows and making friends with everybody he meets as a way to prove that he's just as popular as the other members.

I was always under the impression that Seungri NEEDED attention. That if he wasn't in the spotlight at all times, he would do whatever it takes to get it. This translates well to variety, but not for a grounded and level-headed person. GD had natural, cool charisma, T.O.P. had the deep voice, Taeyang could dance, Daesung was goofy and an amazing vocalist.... Seungri was absolutely included in the group for his variety talents and not much else. He was noticeably less popular than every other member and he knew it--what better way to distinguish himself than by reveling in the business side of nightlife? He basks in attention and drowns in women every night. Ultimately, when you take away all the fame he has nothing. His narcissistic, constant cravings for attention ultimately consumed him. It's sad, really. (Not sad enough for me to feel bad tho)

In a world of showbiz, you need to make use of whatever cards you have. In many cases, it is talent. Perhaps Seungri knew that he's not that talented compared to his hyungs. Looking from a third person's perspective it's easy to say that he's the type that can be manipulated easily. Because he decided to take on business, it is inevitable that he will fall since dealing with most business partners are never easy. Plus, he's a famous idol in which they will definitely take advantage. He went from fame to infamy which can never be recovered over time.

I don't think Seungri had less attention in the past. As a fan for 10 years, the 3-driving fans crazy with the outlook was always G-Dragon, Top, Seungri. Daesung didn't even have a spotlight until 2012. Taeyang wasn't impressive because he was short and too humble. I think what Seungri really wants isn't fame. He seriously wants money.
