After a few hours after we uploaded this video, a new angle on trainee Yoon Seo Bin's issue has been brought up. His school teachers and friends have came out to defend him saying that he was not a bully. The claims on drinking and smoking have been revealed to be true, but some people are now testifying that he never did bully anybody. However, things we mentioned in the video are true : Yoon did get kicked out of JYP and Produce X 101. Yoon also posted an apology letter on his social media saying he wants to apologize to all the people that were harmed because of him.

In America, it’s very difficult to sue for defamation because of our 1st amendment (freedom of speech). As long as you can prove that you honestly believed someone did this or that, you’re good. For instance, the actor that took the pictures of the vans parking in the handicap spots. He’d have every right to post those pictures, even with the license plates. He can post anything he wanted as long as he didn’t lie. If he manipulated the pictures, then he can get into trouble. If you’re doing bad behavior, don’t be surprised if you get called out for it.

If someone is on a “tight schedule” then they need to mange their time well, create a realistic plan & stick to it. Putting other people’s lives at risk is inexcusable. Off topic but the Sewol incident alone is telling that justice is not a top priority in SK.
@D-Walker5 жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly. Time management is everything. If those guys have been on the road for all their lives, they should know when peak hours are, where the traffic jams usually occur or even the amount of cars they expect to see on the road at a certain time. If they know how much time is needed to do their stuff and even on the road, they could just plan ahead and avoid those problems. But if the driver is reckless anyway, then it sounds like the time management plan would get thrown out the window...
@veronicawo30335 жыл бұрын
D-Walker - I think you have to also factor in that the driver is often not just a driver, and are working extremely long hours too...I don’t know this for a fact, so may be someone can confirm it. This what it appears to me as. In North America, there are laws in the trucking industry about how many hours you are allowed to work before you must take a break. It sounds like this might get not be enforced in terms of the idol driver’s in Korea. So I think tight schedules (poor excuse) are one factor, poor route planning (as you suggested) and exhaustion are all playing a role. Their government needs to step in and make laws and/or designate specific lanes to idol vehicles. It’s for the safety of all concerned. The parking issue just shows total disrespect for society. The rest of us find ways to park in appropriate spots. Drop the idol off and then go park in an appropriate spot. Not that difficult.
@D-Walker5 жыл бұрын
@@veronicawo3033 You have a good point about the exhaustion bit. I don't think I've heard any of the exhausted driver law thing exist in SK or any Asian countries. Just regarding the Sewol accident; that was also under president Park's extremely corrupt administration and everything that led up to it. Not saying everything is just fine still, but things are coming to light now more than ever and things are getting aired out. Did you always make the right decision? Did you never rebel...even just a little? If so, I would like to meet you. I can’t make that claim, as much as I would like to. WeiChang - I was...it did. I still am standing. I don’t want revenge. I want the world to be a better place. I do not want to become a bully in return, just because I was once bullied by others. I want to be better than that. We are also talking about a guy who has been publicly humiliated, probably cursed at and now, all his hard work and dreams are being taken away. Will you be responsible if he is so depressed that he commits suicide? Since I have been close to going over that edge, I do think I do have the right to comment on how I feel. And I don’t feel that the degree to which he is being punished, fits the crime. I have learned that ultimately I am responsible for my own happiness...not the bullies. Plus, if he is in the spot light, we can watch him, and if he behaves in the same way again, then of course get rid of him. I am not saying that we should put up with bullying, but just think, wouldn’t he make a good spokesperson for why bullying shouldn’t occur. If he is allowed to go on, he could go around from school to school and talk about how he is lucky that he was given a second chance, but warn others that they might not be so lucky. That in an instant, your dream may disappear, that people may not be so forgiving. A role model is far more effective, if they can talk from their own experiences.

The thing about bullying... it’s not as simple an issue as we’d like it to be. Often times, bullies are not doing well themselves. They often have situations at home where they get abused or mistreated and the bullying is the outcome of that. Now, I’m not excusing bullying, I’ve been on the receiving end as a teen myself and it sucks and it cannot be accepted, but I can’t help but feel that to truly stop bullying, you need to help the bullies out too, as counterintuitive as it may sound. Especially if they’re just kids. We need to look at the reasons why they’re doing this and give them the tools to stop doing it. So while I do hope his victims will be able to live fulfilling lives without trauma, I’d also be interested to see why it happened. Was he having a hard time too?

My opinion on the teen bully. People change, people grow. they can and only time can really tell if they do. if we're mature enough to call out what's wrong with the society or with someone, we're supposed to be mature enough to accept that they as well can change. But I agree with Danny about not having a career in entertainment scene, we can't have people who endorse bullying behaviour as public figure who teens look up to. Bullying must not be excused, for whatever reason, even with the change of heart. He needs to take time to really self-reflect and pursue another dream elsewhere. That's the best scenario I guess. For him and the society. The update that DKDKTV has posted about Yoon Seo Bin situation changes the whole narrative. My stand on bullying is still the same, but smoking & drinking is a different story. While bullying projects the pain to someone else, smoking n drinking projects pain to oneself. The younger generation can see that and say "oh i'll just be mean all i want now, if i got caught later I can always apologize and have a great career afterwards anyway" and in result not realizing how unacceptable their doings were. That's the message we've been told all these years, but the message we really need to convey is that bullying in whatever form is never acceptable and people must pay for their wrongdoings, even if it includes not being able to have a career in the entertainment scene anymore. Can’t agree with David about the illegal handicapped parking, he’s basically saying that unless you’re handicapped or affected by the illegal parking then don’t mess with it. If we all had this mentality then there wouldn’t be any designated parking for disabled individuals. As most of the population are not disabled then there would not be enough people advocating for the minority’s rights.
@Ykoz20165 жыл бұрын
Okay, about the handicap issue, how about splitting the difference between Danny and David? David, you can't just wait for a handicap person to be put in that situation and complain. The point is to avoid putting a handicap person in that position in the first place. But how about just reporting them to the police first BEFORE sending the public after them. But if it keeps happening (because they don't care or the police don't care ) THEN you expose who (but not the license, that seems unsafe). Compromise?
@JeweledNebula5 жыл бұрын
Or perhaps an even better idea might be to provide photo evidence to the store owner and tell/encourage them to report it instead of "white knight-ing" on social media. That way it's reported by the right people on both ends, essentially.

Corin Miranda Excellent idea. However, wasn’t this at a broadcasting station not a store? I think bullying in Korea is a really serious issue because people actually die from bullying on top of getting their lives messed up. A lot of young people are committing suicide because of it, and even a couple of months ago, a middle schooler died because he fell from a building trying to run away from his bullies after getting beaten up for 1.5 hours. I think if YSB was allowed to go on his life as an idol or celebrity after having bullied someone, the message it would give to people is that bullying is ok. You can still be alive and well and famous with no consequences even if you might have torn other people's lives into shatters.

The thing is bullying in SK is not just verbal bullying. Verbal bullying is not considered bullying in SK. I am not Korean, but I went and stay for about 3 months in SK 5 years ago for student exchange program. Since my department is education, we talk about the education in SK including bullying. They said calling people with names is pretty normal. Iljin, like they mentioned in video, is more like a gang leader who use violent when bullying someone. And in most cases, the victims ended up in hospital from as simple as broken leg/hand/fracture to coma. Idk if the trainee is really iljin or it's just exaggeration. But if he was indeed iljin, he really didn't deserve a chance to become idol or oublic figure. Sure, he was 16/15, young teenager who made mistake. But that kind of mistake? That's not normal. If it's calling name like fat, ugly, sure that excused. Broke their legs, slam their heads on the wall? Hell no. He should seek apologize straight to the victims. Then he can come out clean that way. People may forgive him after that.
@plful5 жыл бұрын
@@BudderChezMC I heard from my friend who's a teacher in Korea that there is absolutely no punishment that can be given to bullies from teachers or schools. There is no system for that in the education system now in Korea. They don't get probation or expelled for bullying. Teachers might threaten to call their parents, but that really rarely happens and if it does, the bullies AND their parents very rarely care. A lot of the times, the parents would be like, "my child would never do that. How dare you" or "they're just playing. Why are you making this such a big deal". All teachers can do is tell the bullies verbally "you shouldn't be doing that" and that's it. So they basically face no consequences unless it becomes a really serious case where the victims actually end up dying or getting critically hurt.

Anybody who has done something wrong, regardless of the severity, deserves a second chance as long as they have changed for the better. If they continue to be bullies that's a different story. Just because we were bullied at one point, doesn't give us permission to become the new bully. I don't agree with banning someone from doing what they love and suggest they do something else just because they were bullies at one point. They also deserve to follow their dreams. This is not a TV show or a movie, this is real life.

This episode was worth the wait. No I don't think people deserve a second chance towards the entertainment industry as far as debuting goes but if you have a good track record already with several years in the spotlight as a good person now as a grownup it's different but with all scandals now and Korea really working on a positive world image it makes sense to shut him down since image reflects on everyone. I personally support a certain idol being out of the spotlight after getting a few DUI's which also is a matter of image and bad behavior despite being known for X years. And honestly, If I saw even my favorite stars break the law I would call the police to let the police do the judgement call because I think society needs laws for a reason no matter the social status. And I'm talking lawbreaking that has a negative impact here. I'm previously used to living in a culture where weed is super illegal but weed is something I wouldn't butt in for so of course there are degrees of action needed to be taken. I'm also legally considered handicapped here in the US and with that I have a hoard of handicapped people in my online life that struggles with parking and other things so I commend the guy that posted this as a warning of "straighten yourself up or I won't be as nice." Thank you for clearing up that detail as well. And nice stance taking on bullying too. Nice work. :)
@dancinboi895 жыл бұрын
Ambi Cahira I think second chances are deserved especially because the person in question was immature. Being someone who was bullied, I think having an individual who used to be a bully and sought redemption can be a good advocate against bullying. Bullies generally are going through their own situations that results in them acting out that way, and if they have someone who was “one of them” and can relate to them, would have a better chance of helping them stop. I don’t think bullying is acceptable, but I think everyone should be given a second chance if they genuinely seek forgiveness. We aren’t perfect, and you’d be surprised how many celebrities have had horrible pasts and became better people afterwards. (Robert Downey jr is one, I’m sure y’all love Ironman.)

7:20 that DOES fuck up the rest of your life. I've been bullied in almost every school I went to, changed them frequently because of that too, been bullied and frightened by teachers too in a couple of them- and I still have nightmares about it. I have severe social anxiety that gets me even online (and I'm trying to get better in that), I'm 22 years old and I'm not even capable of talking on the phone with somebody other than my mom or sister. If I was dying I would literally just let it happen instead of actually calling an ambulance. That's how bad I have it and looking back at it I don't even think it was severe bullying, more like it was constant throughout many years of my life starting all the way from kindergarten. Think about those who were BOTH physically and mentally bullied. I still think bullies should get something for it, be that a fine, counseling in school or even going to juvenile in worst cases. The issues lie in the fact that nobody really takes it seriously and have the mentality of "well they're young and don't know what's right or wrong", but even if it was like that? That would be even more fucked up! It's like looking at a child who just tortured and murdered a small animal, the less they know what they're doing the more dangerous they could get growing up. If a teenager doesn't know what's right or wrong and does shit like bullying somebody to death then it means they truly get pleasure out of it and that's sick. If the price somebody has to pay is just losing opportunities then so be it. The people that person bullied most likely wouldn't even be able to step a foot in the path of their dreams because they're fucked up mentally from that experience. I know Seobin probably wasn't a bully, but the discussion still stands even if it's an hypothetical person. Sorry for the essay, I don't really comment this much ever, but since it's a topic very close to home I figured I would give my two cents.

Teenagers go through a lot in their heads, they are children trying to figure themselves. We shouldn't forget that. Plus I honestly believe many bullies are simple victims of negligence and searching for attention in the wrong place. It's true bullied people can become traumatized that's why I believe parents play a big role in avoiding their children being bullied or being a bully. How? There was a thread post that had been translated by Pann-choa that basically went into great detail disproving that Yoon Seo Bin had committed any type of violence in his younger years. Someone spoke to his teachers, kids he went to school with and they all pretty much said he was a good kid, didn't fight with anyone and was very popular because of his looks. Apparently one of his friends made a fake post claiming that he use to beat him up but it turned out that his friend was just joking...why a friend would make a post like that I have no idea. its sad that something small got blown up. Here is the thread; pann-choa.blogspot.com/2019/05/enter-talk-truth-about-yoon-seobins.html

Even if he is innocent it was good to bring up the topic about bullying. Bullying is very important to discuss.

@Karen Silva Bullying is an important topic, but it's not okay if someone innocents name is attached, that is career or life ruining.

The idols weren't the ones driving tho
@zeynatura5 жыл бұрын
i agree, they were not but they could have told the one driving it's not correct to park there and if the person parking doesn't change spot if the idol can drive they could do it themselves

Because of my bullies I developed eating disorders and social anxiety and at the age of 26 I'm still struggling to overcome the side effects of those 3 years of middle school, to the point I got very sick physically and mentally and I didn't lived a life at all. I didn't give much credit to them for my suffering in the past but after some self reflection I believe if it wasn't for those bullies my life would be very different. I don't care about revenge, but I hope they at least remember what they did and are aware of it. Honestly I think this person needs to deal with his past just like his victims had to deal with it because of him. Sorry if my English is bad, not my first language. Love you guys ❤️

I think that bullying can be at very different levels. Some one who made fun of people and wasn't nice versus someone who is truly cruel and persistently terrorizes people deserve different consequences. So I hope that there is more specific information about his actions and the consequences fit the crime. If it was severe he should be given a few years to make amends and change before they have a chance again
