Sam Rockwell is the best actor of his generation in terms of ability...I have never seen an actor so effortlessly melt in to different characters like him since Gary Oldman.
@rodrigoodonsalcedocisneros92664 жыл бұрын
Yes, he definitely has that Gary Oldman quality to him. Joaquin is a powerful actor but he ain't as varied as Sam. Still both of them are up there in ability next to the cream of the crop in Hoffman, Oldman, DL or Pacino

This is one of the greatest films of all time. That's a bold statement, so I'll elaborate. 1) It makes you feel damn near every emotion throughout its runtime. Laughs, sadness, tension, excitement, surprise. The list goes on. 2) It has a star-studded cast that give memorable performances, with memorable duologue. 3) The cinematography in this film is beautiful. Everything from simple shots like the opening scene, all the way to the finally. It's all shot through the lense of intelligent camera positioning. Leading your eyes around, or letting them wander. 4) The idea of the film is pretty unique, and handled well. 5) Plot twists! I'm intentionally staying vague about some of these so I don't spoil anything, but in my honest opinion, this is a film worth owning and viewing multiple times. Be it for enjoyment by fans, or a study for up-and-coming film developers. This movie has a little bit for everyone.

Christopher Walken actually worked with Mcdonaugh on a play called A Behanding in Spookane which was awesome! His plays are always really funny and really violent. My favorite work of his, however is The Pillowman. I literally couldn't breath after watching that. I definitely recommend seeking it out if it's playing in a local community theater or whatever. If not, just buy the script. It's so freakin amazing.

Man, this is actually really frustrating... I've been a huge Martin McDonagh fan since even before In Bruges came out, I think he's an actual genius - everyone loves Seven Psychopaths and I legitimately cannot stand it. I don't know if it's the fact that Martin wrote the main character as a screenwriter named Marty (writer-ception?) which I guess most viewers wouldn't realize... or because I was aware of his love for Tarantino and it just feels forcedly-so Tarantino-esque compared to his other work...

In Bruges is one of the best movies I've ever seen, so I wanted to like this more. It was good most of the way but then fell apart in about the last 25 minutes. It's one of those films that was ruined by a weak 3rd act, IMO, though it gets extra points for being a movie about writing movies.

He was alright, I wouldn't say rubbish, but the movie doesn't make him the focal point either. His character really takes a backseat to all the psychopaths. Walken, Rockwell, Harrelson, etc. all steal the show, Farrell is kinda just there...which may be the point, I dunno. He was great as the lead in In Bruges where his character had more of an arc, here he's just really a bystander mostly, honestly I think it boils down to whether you already hate him or not. But he can be good at times.

I watched this movie and was extremely disapointed. One of the worst comedies I have seen in a while. Here is why, I don't mean to sound like an old man living in the past, people swear. I'm fine with that, but when it gets to the point of there has to be a fuck every 2 lines or we're not doing it right, that's just stupid. It just makes every character look idiotic in the worst way possible. I thought this was a fine example of how low the bar is set when this is considered amazing.
