I came to the language part of youtube´s education page to watch a lecture on English grammar. This lecture did not teach me any "useful" grammatical rules, but it was (unlike learning grammatical rules) entertaining. I even decided to start taking notes a few minutes in.. Thank you for this lecture.

You can say, "I am sorry for being late." or "I apologize for being late" which is a slightly more formal way. The contraption "I'm" is for "I am", so use it sparingly. Cheers!

Thanks a lot to The New School and particularly to Mr. Thornbury, his insights about teaching are a relief to my wandering mind as an EFL teacher at technical institution in Colombia (South America). Before Mr. Thornbury, my professional Guru was Frank McCourt´s "Teacher, man". And overall I think Im doing the right thing. But I still cant find the way to tackle the lack of (sometimes zero) motivation of my students to learn English. It is a burden for them. I would be very thankful if anybody can suggest any videos or websites to work on that.

Language Grammar is the way how we significantly consolidate, validate, integrate, and apply culturally and internationally the lines of distinct connection. It is fundamental in order to communicate our thoughts, ideas, and expressions in the way that we are better understood and mutually relate to others as the highest intellectual creation of God the Master Linguist of the universe.

haha unfortunately those tree diagrams radiated to my professor in California :) I did not understand how to construct them and she didn't seem to know how to teach them very well. Note: I was an Italian major, not a linguistics/math major so honestly my brain does not work this way. This speaker is both interesting and humorous. Delightful talk.

I Thank you for your answer but I wanted to know if : " I'm sorry to be late" was correct. Some friends of mine say that but I think it's not correct, am I right? We have to say : I'm sorry for being late or I apologize for being late or I'm sorry, I'm late BUT IN ANY CASE : I'm sorry to be late Thanks again in advance for your answer. Best regards,

Epistemic claims are claims to knowledge, not to probability.
@tom_12311 ай бұрын
I’ve noticed others in this field using epistemology/epistemic in reference to probability. It’s odd but he’s referring to epistemic modality (I think) rather than study of nature of knowledge. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epistemic_modality

I'd love to watch the New School videos but these ridiculous 10-15 minute introductions show complete disrespect for my time. Apparently others feel the same way since the top-rated comment is invariably the time the actual lecture starts. With the name "New School" you'd think they'd give a 30 second intro, put a link to their bio and website on the page/video and let the quality of the lecture drive people to their website. For "New School" they sure waste time on "Old School" presentations.
