Hi. Great videos for the Crenova RD1000 Trail Camera. This is my time using one of these and your run through for the menu system was the best I have seen and it helped me greatly. I noticed that your firmware version is newer than mine and that you had one different menu option to mine labeled Flashlight. Do you know where the firmware updates can be downloaded from? Mine is V01.01.43-01.01.57 and yours has 58 at the end

Sorry - I don't know where you can get the upgraded firmware. My camera came with the version you noted installed from the factory.

I could listen to your presentation for hours,very interesting,well done,With my camera I am using eight batteries twenty four seven just for test,sixteen batteries in four weeks,expensive,they advise against rechargeable batteries,but you are using them without problem,what can you advise please?.

thanks! I've been using the 8 rechargeable batteries with no problems. When I first load them in the battery indicator on the screen shows a little low but so far I've let the camera go for over two weeks and still had plenty of juice left in the batteries.

Nice review. Does the box tell the trigger speed of the camera?

It gives a "startup" time of "approximately 1 second". That seems consistent with what I've seen so far in terms of the camera capturing things moving through its field of vision.

Simmons 12mp cameras are only 2mp and the software blows it up to 12mp that is very blurred and grainy whether you use LO (2mp) or HI (12mp) settings. They are best used with the 720p video setting in my experience.

I just finished setting up my camera; but as soon as I move the switch from TEST to ON it flashes for 5 seconds goes to sleep mode And never takes neither photos or video; what should I do ?! (Pretty pissed off and desperate)

Are you sure it goes to sleep or is in picture mode and not getting triggered? I'd first check to make sure the batteries are fully charged. If so, then maybe try to see if you need to do a factory reset. Oh...and maybe make sure the card is formatted.

I have 5 of this exact Crenova model. 2 of the 5 are completely dead. They worked for months and then quit. Another 2 are behaving strangely. One set to make 10 second videos starts at 10 seconds then jumps to only 5 second video, then video length almost seems random. Another has the blue LED on at all times, which can't be good on batteries. I have not had any response from warranty or support contacts. Total silence. I tried their Facebook page. It is too bad they can't get their act together because it seemed to be a good camera when working.

I did all of the things that you did. I tested it, saw the sensor light go on. I even took a pic and vid of my husband to make sure it worked and replayed them. Then I turned it to ON and it is not picking up any motion. Help??

hmmmm....im not sure what the problem might be. I know it wont work through a window or glass door. outside of that i'd check all the settings again especailly the delay settings and whether or not you have video and or picture mode turned on.

Starting at 10pm is no good as a lot of the low-life are on ankle-tags with a curfew setting. The result is that they go burgling during the day! (Legally speaking, burglary is thieving that is done at night so perhaps "Daylight Robbery" would be more appropriate)

I own three of these for past 2 years. I think they were a great camera for price, but one of the cams needs a firmware flash and I just discovered they have ZERO support and ZERO firmware. Apparently they are made in Korea. I assume S Korea, but I cannot imagine they have no support.

IMHO these cameras are a real PITA. They have a USB port but THEY WILL NOT IMPORT THE RTC SETTINGS FROM THE LAPTOP.. Instead one has to mess about pressing buttons and stepping through menus which have extra features that don't actually work. Ideally there would be a set-up screen for one's laptop so that all the settings could be done in a snap. The cameras are so user-unfriendly that they deserve to be chucked in the bin. Of course this is why they were reduced to twenty five quid..

I don't think the setup was all that difficult on this camera. I agree, the features you are looking for would be nice but aren't really necessary.

Crappy generic trail camera. I've already had to return it and exchange it for another one. Mine didn't come with an SD card.
