Wowzer!!! What a great haul (part 2), Margreth 💕💕 I must say while I am very happy for you, I am also envious of your charity shops and the oh so reasonable prices. My husband smokes cigars and he keeps all the bands for me. Some of the artwork is amazing! I revamp and decorate some of the boxes as well. I had a hard time removing some of the caution stickers without damaging the box. I had heard on one of the You Tube vids about putting washi tape that didn't want to peel so good anymore into the microwave for about 7-10 seconds. My microwave is downstairs and I couldn't be bothered so I use my heat tool. Works great on washi and stubborn stickers 👍💕 Hope that helps.... Blessings~~~

Absolutely marvelous!! What great finds. Very interesting. I'm also a bookaholic. We have a great art resell store here in Boston called Make and Mend. They have a small brick and mortar store but they mostly sell on line. They have the best vintage craft/art/ decorating/design books. I just bought 6 this week!!! They also have great obscure things which is what we look for. Their fabric is lovely. I've gotten many different patterns that you never see. I just got some with hedgehogs on it!! Love finding treasures.

Again, I am jealous. I love the cigar bands. I would like to know how the American cigar band book get to the Netherlands. It is very interesting how many things you find that are from America. I live vicariously through your wonderful shopping videos. TFS❤ I just looked up cigar band collections on eBay…..just a book on collecting them is 10.00usd and for actual collections they are like 90.00 and over. Lovey what treasures you have found… so happy for you. I think my favorite are the fairy tale cigar bands.

Omg! I am so jealous! An amazing haul. I vaguely remember something similar to the book with acetate over-pages from my childhood. I’m 61. I like the concept of the long field guide bound with the post that the pages slide up like a fan. Margreth can you share the titles and authors of the Dutch, German, Czechoslovakian, French and other non-English books.

I grew up in a town in the US that had a really high percentage of families of German descent. In the 1960's, the elementary schools offered free German lessons to us kids with "alphabet soup" names, I suppose in hopes of the kids keeping closer connection to their German roots. I first discovered the curly haired guy with the super long fingernails in book form. The book belonged to my elder sister, and it was titled "Der Struwelpeter." The author was also the illustrator. Wikipedia says "Der Struwwelpeter ("shock-headed Peter") is an 1845 German children's book written and illustrated by Heinrich Hoffmann. It comprises ten illustrated and rhymed stories, mostly about children. Each cautionary tale has a clear moral lesson that demonstrates the disastrous consequences of misbehavior in an exaggerated way...." By the time my German was advanced enough to be able to read it my sister was married and gone, taking the scariest book cover I'd ever seen with her. Flash forward to 2007, and it was one of the books in my son's high school German class. At 66 years old, he still scares the crap out of me!!

Margreth, with the cigar bands being put together so well, please look at values for them hunny. My one Uncle collected cigar bands just like this, and placed them lovingly in a book just as you have. When he died, my Auntie was set up monetarily for the rest of her life from the proceeds of them. We couldn’t believe it! They can be worth a lot. I’ve not seen those vellum pictures of past and present in years and years. Aren’t they just the coolest. My Gramma had them and we sat for hours going through them. I’ve written down every book and every item you got in this amazing haul so that I know where to start for my collection. Those alphabets from the game are so neat! These are more me than anything I’ve collected so far because I’m finding myself in my ephemera and what I want to work with. Finding my style. I found the readers digest Wild flowers of Great Britain for a £1...so far I just can't cut it up, it's too nice, and a lot of the pictures are the same in a few of those small paperbacks I have, so, I cut them up instead! 😊 I reckon some of those books you have will be worth a lot more! so if I were you I'd check first!
