Almost 2 years ago you gave my son one of the jungle blankets. I mentioned he had surgery and he wanted to do an a tv marathon of your channel. So you sent him that blanket. He turns 12 tomorrow and he still loves that blanket. He takes it camping with us. He uses it on his bed. He lays on the floor wrapped up in it watching movies. It's been well loved. Thank you Luke for sending him it.

Luke, I’m glad I watched this video today. As you might remember from a previous comment, I have struggled against a brain tumor(oligodendroglioma) since 03/21/2010. Yep, today marks the fourteenth since waking from a month long coma. Instead of being happy at beating the odds for another year, my mind started thinking of my “old self”- the pre tumor version of me. Then I clicked on this video. The story you told, regarding the subscriber who passed of cancer, hit me like a ton of bricks. I may be on chemo today, but at least I am still above ground. “Get busy living, or get busy dying, popped into my head. Cheers and Carpe Diem to you dude. 🤙

42:02 I would stay. After working all week and setting up camp, I'd be tired. I'd snuggle down in my sleeping bag and drift off, listening to the pitter, patter of the rain drops. I'd breath deeply, getting every bit of fresh rain cleaned air. I'd feel the chill on the tips of my nose and ears. Knowing that when I get home, life begins again... Along with drying out all that camping gear... Yup! I'd stay. I'm not ready for life to begin again so soon! Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵. Take care of yourself and each other 😷.

Mother's Day is coming and have a few more items on my bucket list. I'm 65 and hopefully get a few more years in to enjoy, then gets passed on to my kids. Most people don't really give it any thought. Before being told this, I guess that I assumed that ticks magically "appeared" every spring. Like I said, I never gave it much thought until coming down with Lyme disease symptoms (tests were inconclusive, but treatment with doxycycline was suggested and done). I have no lasting effects, and use permethrin regularly now.

So… I loved that Fury camping set up and looked it up for information. Holy mackerel!! That is crazy expensive and while it looked really cool, way too much money. I’m impressed that Temu tent did not leak. And when you sat under that tarp in the pouring rain and asked what your audience would do about breaking down, I offered a little thankful prayer. I camp in a little homemade teardrop camper. My breaking down is to hitch the night before, take down the awning the night before, and make a cuppa coffee and a little oatmeal in the camper. listening to the rain on the roof. Of course… Another wonderful video.

Vote with your wallet. If you want USA made, buy the $600 tent over the $150 version. Sadly, decades of consumers wanting lower prices has brought us here with China being the world's factory, and India its office. However, times are changing. Look after your gear, replacing it will be very expensive soon.

I always look forward to your videos. They are so relaxing. Your photography in your videos is top notch. I don't know what you do for your day job, but you can always get a job using your photography skills. Two questions for you - Do you have a site where people are able to purchase your photos? I know you have some unusual shots. I enjoyed seeing the perspective of your work - seeing something from a different point of view. From watching your channel, one would think you would take mostly nature shots. The other question is - once you get home with all your wet gear - how do you go about getting your tent and tarps clean and dry? Thanks for going to all the trouble of showing different views of your campsite. The shots of the different angles of the outside of the tarp with the rain pouring down made me feel even more into the scene. There you were nice and cozy under the tarp, but having to get wet to show us how the site really looked with the rain pouring down. I appreciate the effort.

Not related to the video, but I'd like to ask the community for some advice. I plan on buying a backpack for some 2-5 days hikes. I was planning to buy the decathlon mt100 backpack (80$) but then I saw that the osprey atmos AG 50l LT backpack is on sale (from 260$ to 180$) and was wondering if it's worth the additional 100$. A few more things: - I don't plan to go on 2-5 days long hikes this year, but I'd like to prepare myself by buying gear that is on sale throughout this year (and get myself into better shape in the meantime). - I know that you should buy the backpack last, but the "big 3" that I plan to buy take up roughly 18-20l of space so I hope that the remaining 30l are enough. - I also don't plan on doing winter hikes, so my equipment would be 3-season and should not be "that" bulky. Looking forward to the advice. Edit: I'm from Europe if that helps.

Great video as always Luke. Your comments about the Toyota's setting sales records really resonated with me. About a year and a half ago I was in the market for a new vehicle and was really looking hard at Tacoma's, but even then they were selling so fast in my area that by the time the car hauling truck showed up at the lot they had already sold everything on it in transit. I ended up with a new Mazda CX-5 and although I love it, it is definitely not meant for camping. I will keep it a few years and hope the car market slows down in the meantime.

When you think about it, even though the item is purchased in China I don’t understand why that would be upsetting to anyone. The effort to get it here like you went through, shipped, checked, trucked, warehouses, to couriers to buyer is all American. It’s like avocados and tofu and these organic products are all flown in US doesn’t produce them. Tea also china, here in Scotland, much of fresh North Sea fish, France wine - either do without pay extra or don’t complain about something that’s really not that big of a deal. If the US created these same products for same price then wouldn’t be a problem

I always thought I had no issue with coffee in the evening but then learnt that for those of us that still fall asleep easily, it is our quality of our sleep that is impacted. Started tracking how tired I was in the mornings after late coffees - definitely true. You are onto it recognising the change in dreams. Thanks for the great outdoor content.

Awesome purchase on the 4Runner. My favorite SUV was an '88 Toyota 4Runner. If I wasn't into van life, I would have a 4Runner or a Sequoia. Toyota rocks! I watched this at 0320 hours and nearly paused it to make a hamburger! I love mustard and mayo on my burgers. I must try the red vinaigrette on my broccoli 🥦. The overland gear is amazing stuff. Awesome video, Luke!

42:00 I'd stay, read a book, enjoy the rain... but I come from a hot dry desert. It'll be 82 today. Rain is something I see only a few times a year, so rain is something that is close, dear, and special to me.

Wow. That's a big kitchen setup. The water jug looks very unwieldy . Dripping all over the place. Appears to be for vehicle camping only. Good presentation of information. Thanks for sharing this with me 😊.

I like watching you for several reasons. One is your verbal delivery, no ums and ahs just good conversation. Also no foul language. Try melting a little cheese on the broccoli.

Hey Luke, here's a camping question for you. Would you consider doing a camping video on the App trail & camping either with a tent or in one of those wooden lean-to's? As far as your camping question goes, I would stay & enjoy the rain. Who wants to go back to reality? Enjoy the time away.

If you go back to his earlier videos there are quite a few on the trail. Even in those wooden shelters where the mice ran over him while he slept

Luke, I’ve been a subscriber for a while now, and I really love your channel. Your reviews are honest and unbiased, and you really seem to enjoy using the gear you test and letting us know what you think. But honestly, every time I watch you make coffee it just hurts me. You’ve got skills, top notch gear, and I have to watch you make…instant coffee. I mean, I think I may actually feel pain. That said, I’m glad the tent was dry. Wet campong sucks; good call to pack it in when you did. (You’re killing me, though, man.)

As a western NC native, I love motorcycle camping up there. I generally try to avoid riding in that area on weekends because it gets so busy.

Two things I found super interesting in this video, the Fury camping gear and the tiny glass bottle of ketchup! That Fury gear is crazy expensive, hoping you'll do a full review on it and give your thoughts on if it's worth the money! Another great adventure Luke!
