Severe Thunderstorm & Flooded Street in Vietnam

During my stay in Hanoi near the Old Quarter I experienced a severe thunderstorm which caused the street in front of my AirBnB to be completely flooded. It was one of the craziest storms I've ever experienced, with constant thunder & lightning and rainfall amounts that completely overwhelmed the sewer system.

Oh, my goodness!! That lightening is pretty impressive!! And so much water in the street!! Are there efficient sewers and other run-offs in the streets? I’m amazed that people are still driving through that both in their cars and on their scooters. Be safe, AK!!

ActionKid I know how you live. I used to live Oakland County, Michigan which is part of Metro Detroit and in 2014 we had so much rain that the freeways were flooded for days. The sum pumps on the freeways couldn't handle the rain. My basement had about 6 inches of rain and backup and had to be professionally cleaned. Our sump pump which normally handles storms storms was so overwhelmed that it took time to back into the sewer. Most of the metro area was effected.

Excellent coverage of the beautiful natural lighting storm... that said, during the aftermath of a flooded street and while out in such open air, it's probably best to in fact wear an N95 or equivalent mask to protect against waterborne bacterial-laced droplets that absolutely can infiltrate and infect the lungs 🗯✌

This is quite a common sight in this part of the world 🌎, over development have caused some sewage systems being overloaded, hut it will disappear fairly quickly...wonder how?...AK sta 3:48 y safe...😮🎉😢
