Not trying to be one of “those” people, but it is incredibly dangerous to allow Juniper to run/walk along side the jeep when you are driving. It only takes one second of not paying attention or the dog not paying attention for something to go horribly wrong.
@NowhereBoundAdventures5 ай бұрын

You're camping in paradise and yet you have to prepare for thieves. It's awful. I live in NYC. Stealing is part of urban life. It's not right but it is what it is. Why do we have a justice system if they don't anything?
@NowhereBoundAdventures5 ай бұрын
Unfortunately that is the world we live in. I’ve never had issues with theft (knock on wood), but I know people who have had their entire trailer stolen. Generally if I see shady people driving around or if I get a bad vibe, I just leave.

@@NowhereBoundAdventures It's terrible. I'm sorry that you and the rest of our country must live in fear of thieves. It's especially bad when thievery happens in bucolic paradise. For security, I would wrap your safety chains tightly around the frame and padlock them. Many trailers are dragged away, 0:02 using the safety chains, far enough away that tire locks and hitch can then be cut off. Just one more layer of protection for the price of a good padlock.

you need to step up your security measures. The stabalizers will snap off first bump as they pull away.the lock on the hitch is all of 5 seconds and the chain and lock might be 30 seconds. Chain it to your axle with the lock under the trailer. Buy a proven industries hitch lock. And buy a few trail cameras and hide them so youd get pictures of the thieves steeling it.

I appreciate your concern and I should probably clarify this more in the videos because others have expressed the same concern. My dog is only outside the jeep when I’m getting those shots. She walks next to me or behind me when I’m setting up the camera as well. They’re always very slow drive-bys and I’m always aware of where she is. I’m never reckless about it and she always stays a safe distance away. She loves it and it’s good exercise for her. When I’m not filming or if there’s any sign that there could be other traffic, she stays in the jeep. If I thought I was putting my dog in harms way I wouldn’t be doing it. After all the “anti-theft” prep, leaving the doors unlocked is a bad idea. The expectation that a criminal or vandal won’t destroy your shit because it’s unlocked is ludicrous. There are numerous reports of criminals breaking in somewhere, causing lots of damage, yet a nearby door or window was open. Signs of forced entry can give you the advance warning that someone or something is near and may want to kill you. Signs of forced entry gives you a legal advantage should a confrontation occur because you surprised a criminal that hadn’t left yet. Others may want to leave something inside that you don’t want. A skunk 🦨 would be the least of your worries. Someone might leave a venomous snake inside. Illegal drugs could be planted by criminals or police. Let’s not forget the cops that are steadfast that donut glaze or cotton candy is meth, even after a lab proved it wasn’t. I could list numerous scenarios both hypothetical and actual where unlocked doors have catastrophic results. Legal woes will cost more than any damages to that trailer. While it’s ultimately up to you, lock your doors.

Later in the video you’ll see multiple massive tree blowdown from the storm only a few miles away from my camp blocking all the roads. I probably could’ve done a better job editing and I’ll try harder next time. Thanks for the comment and please give my other videos a try!

@NowhereBoundAdventures4 ай бұрын
A black bear isn’t going to randomly jump out of the woods and attack me and my dog. That just doesn’t happen. In fact, I would argue that having my dog with me would deter a black bear from approaching us. If it were grizzly bears that would be different. Thanks for the comment!

Others have brought this up and I should have made it clear in the video. Juniper is only outside of the jeep when I’m filming those shots. When I’m not filming drive by shots, she is riding in the jeep. Which is 99.9% of the time. She loves it and it’s good exercise for her. A bear is not going to randomly jump out of the woods and attack my dog. That would never happen (unless it were a grizzly, which doesn’t exist in PA.) Juniper never leaves my side. Even when off-leash. Thank you for the comment and for watching!
