I remember getting thunderstorms everyday when I went on holiday to Florida twelve years ago. Seemed absolutely massive, though part of that's probably down to my general fear of them. Still seeing them made me realise the ones we get here in the UK are pretty tame in comparison so I'm generally not as bad as I was (though the bigger storms still leave me a little shaky!)

Yep, Florida certainly gets it's fair share of thunderstorms, especially during the summer months! I'll be heading down there again next week for more storm photography :) Thanks for watching!

I was in Florida in February of '98. The weather there wasn't that bad. But it rained the morning that I left. There were no thunderstorms. I don't plan to go to Florida again. I couldn't take summertime weather all year long down there. I'm staying right here in Pennsylvania with the change of seasons.

The worst severe thunderstoms happen at night when everyone's asleep sometime after midnight which is unfortunate cause Im too sleepy to be recording but do get awoken by the immense shrieking lighining sounds.

Scott McPartland, It's Jon. I heard a rumble of thunder in Southampton! The storm is getting closer. The Met. Office have issued a yellow warning of severe thunderstorms in southern England. The storms will bring torrential downpours, frequent lightning strikes and flash flooding with hail. The storm will clear the South Coast later this afternoon. I am hiding in the closet with my fan on full blast because it is so humid and Lightning McQueen is keeping me company. Good luck on more adventures, Scott. Your best friend, Jon Stewart.

I will enjoy the summer, Scott. The World Cup is coming closer. Both England and the USA are in a Group of Death. Good luck to us. Thunderstorms erupted across Southampton 4 hours ago. Hail had bounced off dockyard buildings and there was a tremendous number of lightning strikes. The worst is now over and the sun is shining here after a wild and thundery morning.

that last lightning strike almost hit the plane that was going by.

I used to be terrified of thunderstorms when I was little as well. I grew out of that around 12 years old and ended up becoming fascinated with storms!
