I did this achievement a couple years ago and remember it being among the hardest things I've beaten in a video game. If I included all the practice on the bosses it probably took me around 20-30 hours to beat this challenge. Recently I've been trying to do all the pantheon of hallownest with the bindings (individually, not all at once. That would be insane) and It kinda brought me back to how I felt when first time playing the pantheon of hallownest. Even though I've beaten absolute radiance on radiant difficulty, which is arguably much harder (took me longer to beat on radiant than all the other bosses combined), the amount of tension in that fight in the pantheon is something else. I actually died 3 times in a row to the final phase of the absolute radiance fight in the pantheon when doing the charm binding, though now I only have the nail binding left, which is probably the easiest one. For me there's always something special about these types of boss rush challenges. I'm really surprised you didn't have a harder time on absolute radiance. I've played that fight for over 30 hours and it's still still the fight I die to by far the most often. (on my binding runs the only boss I've died to is absolute radiance and I've died to her around 10 times.)

I did a similar thing to this but in Cuphead, where I had to beat all 19 main game bosses and all 6 dlc bosses in one take. It took around 8 tries over 5 hours ( I had 200+ hours in Cuphead before this and beat the game hitless not consecutively) and my heart rate was around 130bpm at the end😅

GG I loved the documentary, seeing you learn how to optimaly play the game and learn what things work, and Seeing the struggle on the last 3 bosses, what makes them so good. And specially the skill curve, from dieing to Grimm to Obliterating NKG Kind of disappointed you defeated Absrad that easy... But I think I did it even faster so... Idk. Also that way you fought P5 was basically how I did P5AB, fought and practiced Zote for hours just to beat Absrad first try. If you ever attempt bindings or even all bindings I'd love to see another documentary. Also your narration and script was really good, not to mention the editing.

Embrace the Void is a good name. From a lore standpoint, you are Embracing the Void inside of you, the vessel. From a gameplay point of view, you are Embracing the Void that is this nearly endless cycle of practicing the bosses and running p5 over and over until, when you are nearly void of even happiness, you beat it.

I recently got back into Hollow Knight, and I'd lost all my progress from the Pantheons, but I'm almost there. I beat all bosses (except NGK and pure vessel) radiant, which makes going through the pantheons a breeze. Doing all bosses radiant really gives so much useful practice. Finger crossed I can finish Pure Vessel, so I can MAKE it to Absolute Radiance, and start practicing for my "real" attempts at PoH.

Congrats for beating P5! I felt that nerves you had when beating P5 only bosses, NKG, PV, and AR, as I was always nerve wrecked when I reach those fights. It took me a month and lots of heartbreaks to beat Pantheon 5. To grind and practice Hall of Gods just to be part of that 0.3% of Steam users to unlock the Embrace The Void achievement was worth it. A lost run is never wasted time, it's a learning experience. You got extra practice dealing with the nerves that come with a challenge like this. This goes for any game, and forcing myself to think like this has really helped me both improve at game and not rage as much. It's a healthier mindset than thinking of losses as wasted time. This challenge really deserves the title of the hardest thing in Hollow Knight, and is the hardest thing I've done in a metroidvania. When I reached the climb phase when I tried it in P5, I was shaking so much, had to pause the game and calm down for a moment. It worked, and I beat it before the nerves got to me.

This is a really fun video. I've made it to AbsRad twice but never came close to beating her. Just getting to her is a level of pressure I can't describe lol. Even in the Hall of Gods, I've only beaten her once on normal difficulty.

Hall of Gods training for Nightmare King, Pure Vessel and Absolute Radiance is all you need to complete Pantheon 5. If you unlocked Pantheon 5, you pretty much have fought most bosses multiple times any way, other than Zote so there will be comfortability around them, even with less health going into a boss. You need to train for those 3 though because you encounter these guys once and they are the 3 hardest bosses in the game. And you need a lot of patience. People will be zooming their way early in the Pantheons so the last 7-8 bosses might make people struggle due to loss of health in the game a lot due to their aggressive style. A lot of these last bosses have double damage and they move so fast while leaving little openenings. You cannot play aggressive if you aren't 100% comfortable with a boss. You need to value you lives more than the damage you do. And get Shaman Stone for the Radiance fight. People don't tend to use spells in the Pure Vessel fight so using 3 notches for a spell badge may seem useless but it'll help you so much with the Radiance fight. Especially the platform phase is a killer and staying on the bottom platforms there and spaming Shriek is a life saver not to mention the final phase.

It doesn't matter if you save Zote or not, Grey Prince Zote only appears in the pantheons if you fought him in Bretta's basement Also, have you tried pogoing Pure Vessel instead of Shade dashing through him when he does his dash attack? It helps a lot

I got every achievement in this game between January 16 -28, which makes it sound like I didn't struggle a lot but this took me 64 hours and 2 failed steel soul runs. The best part about this pantheon Imo is that you can practice all of these bosses and their ascended versions to ensure victory in the actual run. Resulting in me doing the final pantheon in only 2 attempts after practice. FYI: before practice I died to Markoth and the very next attempt to Zote (due to low health). I adored this game and it stands as one of my proudest fully achieved games on steam (competitors being celeste, cuphead (on switch) and crash 4) Edit: I wish I knew about the Zote thing before going for the pantheon because he caused me a lot of panic.

Sly quickly became my favorite fight in the game when I went back and cleaned up the base pantheons. He feels so overwhelming when you first fight him, but I eventually developed a strategy that basically resulted in me leading him around his arena by the nose and getting hits in where I could. I am fairly sure this is one of the only bosses I've beat on Radiant.

Doing P3 and P5 with Zote is a whole different level, it is a pity that you can skip it. Zote is HARD, the 2nd or 3rd most grindy boss to do hitless, he remains difficult in the regular pantheon because you have to be sharp. I have done all bosses hitless, I am close to the last binding in P5 (vessel) and then I want to do P3-P5 with all bindings at once. I can beat most bosses with all bindings, the biggest obstacle probably is the collector, beating him with the charm-binding in P5 already was a struggle due to the many minions, when you have only one charge of soul and 4 masks you probably have to spare blue masks until there to get through that, so prevent any mistake against the easy bosses which come before him.

As someone who just started playing hollow knight 2 weeks ago I feel ur pain. I just made it to the pantheon and haven't attempted it yet. But nkg was actually pretty easy for me. Got it after 5 attempts. I changed my nail build out and used shaman stone and flukefarm lol. It sounds crazy but it changes vengeful soul to a shotgun blast that does stupid damage. I probably won't run it in pantheon though

I beat Pantheon 3 and then made it to Pure Vessel before getting my shit rocked again and again even in practice runs. I decided eventually that having beaten every boss in the game was enough, even if the harder forms of the Final Boss were beyond me.

The worst thing about the Pantheon of Hallownest is that not only you have to reach the Radiance fight in the first place to get the statue in the Hall of Gods (which means you basically have to die once after completing the whole Pantheon) but the fight is so damn unfair, Radiance can overlap 3 attacks at once and the climb fase is almost rng. As I was beating Absolute Radiance I was getting so nervous that I could feel my heart literally BURNING. Seriously I felt a hot, burning feeling in my chest and my heart almost started to beat backwards.

I just realized something The final phase of absolute radiance is literally just a harder version of the last phase of soul master/soul tyrant the fake out stage and instead of balls of soul it's balls of light it's basically just a harder version of soul tyrants basically

A good Combination to fight NKG is defenders crest Sharp shadow and The Arts charm (I forgot the name) then add whatever you want after those but when he does the flame attacks from the floor Charge up your Sword Attack and Dash into him so it’s a dash slash with defenders crest poisoning him for a few seconds and the sharp shadow adding that damage

Congratulations on beating pantheon 5! I did it a few months ago so I know it's a really tough challenge. If you want to do the bindings for some reason you should complete hall of gods first or just try to master the hardest bosses (NKG, Pure Vessel and Absrad)
