It seems like all speedrunners just forget Isma's Tear even exists. You already beat Dung Defender, have Crystal Heart and Mantis Claw, why not get it? It removes any time, health and Soul wasted trying to do tricky acid skips. It also makes Uumuu's fight easier, but that's not much of a selling point.

Well for top any percent runs you don't miss any acid skips and for completion categories you have to get it to finish the run. For achievement speedruns it's so handy though (at least in my experience)

Partially because you can’t do acid skips once you get isma’s tear (it just sucks you into the acid once you get close to the water level), and acid skips are cool :3

Technically, you could've gotten crystal dash before Gorb by grinding geo, then you could enter Blue Lake by crystal dashing from the top of the right side of Gruz Mother arena. No shade skip necessary.

Interesting, I had this idea a couple of weeks ago and I decided to try! I did *almost* everything correct, but I had a problem with Hornet Protector and Massive Moss Charger and I was forced to beat Hornet before MMC, cuz I failed to do the tricks to reach MMC without the dash

Couple of issues: Biggest one is you need to beat the bosses first in order to unlock them in the HOG. The only ones I considered doing this for was the Pantheon exclusive bosses e.g Nailmasters. Problem there was you need desolate dive to reach the Godseeker, which requires Soul Master who is a later boss so doesn’t work out.

Yeah that was my plan initially but during recording found that in order to get to the Godseeker, I needed Desolate Dive, which requires Soul Master annoyingly. So ended up changing it.
