We are so used to 2 waves of enemies that it's normal to think that the Kairagi are the last enemies. I was taking my time because I didn't check the enemies counter so I was also surprised when they appear in the second half.

look i aint f2p im a frequent welkin guy..... Vertically invested teams shine well in 12-1 because u can out Dps the initial enemies quicker and properly rotate the beasts... i used international (i forgot about ASIMON and retried for that), alhaitham nahida yelan kuki, ayaka(mist) shenhe kokomi kazu... which were able to clear it within time comfortably... i reseted like 4-5 times (because the crocodile would roll over and basically do an undodgeable attack and the other beast will jump on me when im staggered) Pretty hard abyss this cycle

It was horrible at first because the mobs don't stop attacking and have stupidly huge hit box that makes you feel like a pin ball and they hit like a truck .. i 3 star it with ayaka freez and nilou bloom. And then switch my ayaka to raiden national. And repeat the 12.1 i didn't get 3* but it doesn't matter because i already 3* with ayaka. so i clear the rest of the chamber using raiden national and nilou bloom.

My months of investment into mono geo finally paid off. Chamber 12-1 first half was a piece of cake with itto unga bunga. Second half was painful even with kuki hyperbloom but eventually got it done.

My main issue with 12-1 was just how much you could get knocked around. It felt like they hit you once and you are stuck in a stagger loop but if you hit them they never get staggered .-. While I didn't need a shield for my first team I found the second half too difficult without one. I brought it just so I wouldn't get staggered too much.

what I don't like about the consecrated beasts is that they could push you to the edge of the arena and you can't do anything because your character is on "falling" stance. and as usual, they can still push you even with I-frames which makes setting up combos difficult.

Yeah I’m not sure why this game totally lacks moves to escape being knocked against the edge of the screen / map. Game designers have known for decades that players hate being stun locked as bad as being one shot from a move with no tells. Action games have had these since the 2D arcade era with beat em up games having a split second invulnerability for you to dash out of trouble. It probably came from earlier games, but Phantasy Star Online 2 had a mechanic where you could escape aerial stuns and knockback by pressing jump just after getting hit.

Still at 2* for 12-1. I love this abyss. It feels really challenging but still doable. It is the first floor that's challenging so you don't have to beat 12-1 and 12-2 a bunch of times just to get stuck on 12-3 and eventually redo that with other teams or artifacts or abyss cards. Yes, it is mainly a dps check but also involves lots of mobility, cc and the consecrated beasts can hit like trucks. the tip with the mechanical crabs and their shields is really useful, will definitely save some time by the looks of it.

I managed to clear 9 stars this abyss but had to swap out teams. Chamber 1 was definitely the hardest. But my OCD seeing different teams on my Hoyolab app motivated me to try clearing it with the same team. Eventually managed to get familiarized with their attack patterns. My final teams that eventually carried this abyss were: 1. Nahida, Kuki, Xingqiu, Tighnari 2. Benny, Kazuha, Xiang Ling, Raiden

Just a recommendation for those who want to try other teams, Nahida hyperbloom with double hydro (Yelan, XQ and/or Kokomi) and Kuki/EM Raiden was a good team I found for the first half and the second half you should try Ayaka freeze (Kazuha/Ayaka/Kokomi or XQ/Shenhe), a bit premiere I know but replaced with other characters of the same role (like Diona for Shenhe or Sucrose for Kazuha), I think would a be a viable method for those that are struggling.

If you don’t aim for the stars, only for the completion of the task in a limited time, go for it ! It’s not that difficult. I could clear 12-1 and 12-2 in the last abyss with lvl 75 characters (finished just in time and got no stars). Yours are probably better, so you should be fine.

I thought this was going to be easy after the wenut abyss, but I struggled more with this abyss than the other. I actually had to switch parties to get the full 9 stars in abyss 12. It wasn't all bad though, I actually tried unbenching my Keqing after literal years and her performance in aggravate team with my brand new C4 Nahida surprised me. I ran a team with no healers and shielders in the first half basically, so I had to reset a bunch because the consecrated beasts absolutely ate through my characters' health bars. Fischl did a lot of work, especially in helping by grounding the drake in chamber 2. Xiao on second half was pretty damn strong, especially against the triple kenkis: I managed to clear both sides of chamber three with a little over a minute to spare.

Beidou works really good at second half of this abyss. Her skill allows block a lot of incoming attacks, and burst is ideal for dealing with 2-4 high HP enemies and also provides damage reduction.

To be fair, 12-1 is the real deal, these consecrated beast are next level non annoying and challenging mobs, their tanky hp, aggresive atks, high stagger res, and bypases are on beyond heralds/lectors tier Also the entire floor 12 first halves have so many restrictions, brute force is an option but it can waste your time or you have to be very lucky with the rng This might be the highest total hp pool abyss update to be ever recorded

Best abyss we had in a long while. I love what the consecrated beasts represent from a game design perspective: Big, beefy "fuck you" enemies that will punish you for mistakes by making your characters become unalived, not by wasting your time or putting annoying debuffs on you. A defensive playstyle actually makes sense against them. The only thing I hate is their 2012 yo-mamma joke-sized hitbox making it impossible to play circle impact...

I also haven't tried it yet but in general I'll take heavy hitting but fair enemies over something that doesn't engage with you and just tries to run out the clock. The consecrated beast have been some of my favorite abyss enemies actually once I got a hand of all their moves. Triple Kenki... not so much, but I do prefer them over single Kenki honestly.

It's not as bad as last rotation. If you have Nahida I highly recommend her since she can destroy either side. For 12-1 I recommend a freeze team since freezing the enemies mitigates a lot of rng.

I used Rational with Yelan on the first half of F12 and Superbloom with Nilou, Kokomi, Nahida and Collei and surprisingly not only struggled with just the first chamber but also finished the third with more than 8 minutes remaining on the timer! It's safe to say those were the most satisfying 36* of my life lmao

I was able to clear with full stars but I had to go through it twice, my best teams for chambers 1 and 3 which were able to 3 star both chambers, were not optimal for chamber 2 especially against the Aeonblight drake. So I had to go through a second time to get 3 stars on chamber 2.

Hardest Abyss in a while. I was aiming for 2-3-3 star clear so I could experiment on chamber 1 a bit later but I lost my sanity on that one and failed to 3* the others too. Right now, as of today, I feel like 6* is enough for me. Those 50 primos aren't worth the stress right now.

I only managed to 6 star the current floor 12 (2-2-2) with my sanity still intact. I used Xingqiu, Yelan, Bennet and Xiangling (first half) and Diona, Venti, Mona, and Ayaka (second half). So glad the cards available today are good (1 ATK % and 2 Crit Rate & DMG).

This abyss just feels like mihoyo just don't care anymore. Not only the new characters are bad, now even the new overtuned monsters and their hitboxes are completely broken, being tossed around the room and being unable to hit the enemy i'm actually targeting because it keeps hitting the same mob, because their hitbox is the size of the whole room, is getting really frustrating really fast.

Sevy's Heizou national manages to impress me anew every time. I did first half with the National Core + Fischl, which worked out pretty fine. And I gave my newly obtained Nilou her debut on second. All in all, I love this Abyss. It's pretty brutal and challenging, without making play the Wenut Wolflord Waiting game.

Ngl it is comforting seeing you have to redo the first chamber. It makes me feel a lot less bad though you are imposing a challenge on yourself with your f2p comps compared to me. I feel like 12-1 is possibly the hardest chamber they've made. The enemies aren't bullshit time wasters and its really all on the fault on the player especially if they can't dodge. But compared to the chambers we had this time last year, its such a massive ramp up with Sumeru mobs. I went to bed late after messing around in abyss for over an hour of attempts. Then I woke up an hour early and my brain wouldn't stop thinking about it and comps I could do. I stopped my enforced cryo Keqing limitation in favor of allowing her to go pyro but even then I can't really think of setups that would work well to get 36. Its going to be a mess of retries. Edit: Hyperbloom first half with Collei for 12-2-1. And Cryo Keqing for 12-2-2 and 12-2-3. But then Pyro Keqing for 12-1-2. I was going to have Pyro Keqing in the first half but the Ruin Hunter refused to play ball and kept flying making him actually the worst enemy in the entire abyss with how many restarts I did until I gave up and just threw the Hyperbloom team back on first half.

I had to replay chamber one like 15 times while 2 and 3 were fairly easy. My tip is to bring enough defensive units since the consecrate beasts can one-hit you and some of their attacks are really difficult to dodge, even when I lost some DMG it was way easier not dying every second and not having to dash every hit. I also didn't expect the new Hilicturls to be that strong but they hit hard too. I honestly have to thank Diona for carrying my Ayaka team this time, I didn't realise I needed healing and shielding that much until now, I promise I won't think of replacing you with Rosaria anymore.

12-1 was annoying for me mainly because theres just too many phases in the 2nd half. Not only that, every enemy except the Geo Fungi and Nobushi, can’t be grouped because of the size/movement without a strong CC like Kazuha.

At 14:33 you can knock it out of the bomb rain attack and it doesn't gain increased RES. To do this, hit the glowing "nose." Doesn't stop it from flying but you don't need to dodge the bombs and can get in more damage.

really wish they would stop creating enemies that stagger you constantly to make it more difficult. It's literally the most unfun thing ever and at some point it's impossible to actually dodge it all, so you're getting staggered no matter what, which is just frustrating no matter what. It wouldn't be as much of an issue if I didn't ALSO have to blaze through the floor, thereby giving me no time to carefully dodge attacks.

Thank you so much Sevy! I couldn't make 3 stars on 12 - 1 first half of this patch and I'm AR60 with a lot of 5 stars! Being patient and restarting when the rng with the shields, the kairagi not self healing and the consecrated beasts not separating finally paid off after about 7 restarts and I finished with 12 seconds to spare! I hope Consecrated beasts pushing you around gets nerfed someday! It's so frustrating on 5 star characters losing track of where I am after a burst because they decided to shove me halfway across the map.

Little tip if your struggling with 12-1 consecrated beasts on chamber 1 focus on the hydro croc as this will mean the dendro one has to stay near it. For the second half the scorpion is the more dangerous of the two so hyperbloom is really effective, the dendro one running around is to try and make you waste time. Finally got my 36 stars once I realised hitting the stronger one only made a quicker clear of the floor.
