Yay, another person with a Husqvarna Viking. I rarely see them in quilting. I have a 690Q but when I do walking foot quilting I have to crank up the tension of the top threat waaaay up. I had it serviced at the dealer but they said everything was fine. I still find it strange though. I see the problem especially when I sew corners.

that's so interesting! I assume you're using the same thread in the top and bobbin? Mine usually auto adjusts the tension relatively well, but I do make small tweaks when quilting to make sure it's perfect

Even with ESS and DSS I still get shredding, breakage and skipped stitches while FMQ. I have tried all types of needles and everything else one can think of. I have the 980Q and tried the 95Q for 2 weeks and it wasn't different from the 980Q except for the laser guide and IDF. However, the throat space and other features, I don't think I could live without now that I have had it for almost a year.

I have the epic 95q. I am finding that I have to adjust the thread feed system every time. Does that sound like what you would expect to see? The machine is only a few months old, and I have had usage lessons.

What do you mean by adjusting the thread feed system? Have you asked your dealer about it? When I turn my machine on, it automatically recalibrates and is ready to go on its own without me having to make manual changes.
