I forgot to say at the end . . .to make these dresses nursing friendly, when I am about due I will open up the sideseams under the arms and add 6 in. invisible zippers to the dresses. I didn't want to do that now because I wanted to see if the dresses would even work. . . and also I'm a little rusty on installing invisible zippers so I'm saving that for another day!

“I’m a good distraction!” (So sweet!) What pretty dresses! And personally when I was pregnant I didn’t enjoy clothes that felt too tight so they look so comfy to me, having some space! 😊 This did inspire me to get back to sewing, I usually have to kinda be in the mood. I make most of my dresses and some for my daughters as well. And I need to get to teaching my oldest daughter more about sewing! What a cute space you have to sew in! Thanks for the inspiration! 🧡 ...also, I learned a new thing watching you, how you snipped the fabric to know where the middle is! I usually put a pin in but this feels easier!

That black/navy floral fabric is called a "French Terry" type fabric. I really like those for joggers or hoodies. 😊 And your dress you did for pictures, it may have been that the fabric was too thick and didn't have a great drape to it, so it stuck out more than the brushed polyester or the French Terry. French Terry with some modal or bamboo makes excellent cardigans also!

I'm 68, I've always knitted for myself and my family sewed a bit in the past too for my girls and I but when they moved out I perused my career I retired at 63 and first thing husband done unknown to me during my final week working was to transform our smallest bedroom into a craft room for me. I love cardmaking etc. I already owned an antique singer hand crank machine he bought me when we first married after seeing my reactions to it at a flea market. I also owned a state of the art electric machine I was in town with my friends for lunch one day and when I got home he took me into craft room and there sitting under the window is an old singer treadle machine I'd always wanted one as I had learned to see using my great aunts treadle machine. I see costumes for church productions etc. My electric machine has found a new home with my daughter and I'm loving using my new treasure. I'm planning when the lockdown ends here to begin to make myself something simple like this so go for it not only will you have something that was made by you but that fits you as you want.

Yes, I've been sewing since I was 13 and now am 74 so for quite a long time. Just finished my granddaughters wedding veil in fact. I have done wedding gowns, church vestments and lots of home decor/drapes/ decorator pillows etc. All of the six girls in our family sew or have sewn as did mother but she was busier with all we children. LOL I love watching your sewing segments and you could do this as another part of your offerings to your followers. It appears everyone loves it. I know I do and your enthusiasm is catching and makes me want to get up and do some more items as well. I have stacks of "to do" fabric and I want to get it done! Love that you trace your fav's from dresses that fit you will......awesome foresight. I so enjoy watching your channel and love when you post. I really liked the dresses I use to sew all of my clothes at one time and I made clothes for other women along with alterations I got tired of doing the fittings so I went to making things for the house and I also make baby comforters with air brushing designs and I just got into making quilts for babies, and for the furry babies also I love doing that and I also have done some throw size quilts I really don't have the room to make anything bigger.
