This is the best sewalong I've ever followed. Sometimes It's hard to see the right/wrong side on some tutorials but you really talk through this carefully, not making any assumptions about whether people can work it out. Thanks for taking the time. I was kind of losing my sewjo but a good sewalong can bring it back.

Great video! That little red ball on your unpicker/seam ripper has another use, too. Once you’ve ripped enough stitches to slip your unpicker under them, slip it in with the red ball end to the underside. You can then run it down a whole length of stitching, and the red ball will prevent it getting caught on your fabric, so it won’t cause any holes or tears. It’s very quick when you need to rip out a long seam. ❤️

Such a detailed tutorial! I learnt so much! Could you let me know where you got your pinking shears as the ones I’ve got are not good cutters? Never fancied this shirt because of the raised hem at the front, but love your adaptation and now I’m inspired to have a go at this pattern. I’m about to start cutting out the Gilbert shirt so a lot of your techniques are also relevant to the Gilbert. Thank you!

You are very good at making tutorials! 👏👏👏 I was just wondering about how you construct the pocket.... Your fabric is the same on both sides so the bit with the point looks right when you turn it over, but what if you have a ”wrong” side of the fabric? Then that will show.... or is it supposed to be an effect? I thought maybe you can do it the other way around and only the pointed stitching will be the effect.
@DevonThreadTales3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I believe that would then have the wrong side facing you, which would be an affect. But like you say, if I wasn't keen on how that looked, I would just stitch it the other way around. Hope that helps. Thank you so much! 🥰

Hi! May i know for the button plackets on the right front, do u use the part that u trim off or fr the pattern? I used the 'K part on the pattern but it turn out to be very small. '
@DevonThreadTales3 жыл бұрын
Hia, the section that you cut off - you don't use at all, it is a separate piece that you attach. I hope that this helps 🥰
@janspenno22413 жыл бұрын
Hello me again. I’m a bit confused..wonder if you can help? At 30.03 you say you’re going to attach it to the left side. At 30.15 your attaching to the right side. Think I had that issue earlier too. Just going to watch again
@DevonThreadTales3 жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness, I've just watched that bit back!!!! You're totally right, I say two things, but I am attaching it to the right side of the shirt. The side that we have cut a strip off of! I hope that makes sense, I'm so sorry for the error! Thank you 🥰
