When you were cutting out the pieces i thought "oh no they will not be opposite ("uniform"?) at the front. But seeing the finished jacket I actually prefer it this way. Looks awesome! ❣

Great job! It’s funny that you do the most intricate crochet projects but simple sewing projects frustrate you. 😂😂 I would never have the patience to do the crochet projects you’ve done. I get it though!!

I'm a boomer and don't know how to link videos or send messages here on youtube, so I'm commenting instead. I just saw the newest video by Retro Claude in which she adapts the knitted "emotional support chicken" and makes a vintage version emotional support duck. Made me think of your fondness for loons.

It looks great. I'm currently sewing 10 hooded beach coverups from towels. Learning a lot. Wash everything first. Yes it leaves all kinda lint everywhere. I realized serging each piece before assembly made it so much easier. And, i have learned my lesson, i do keep the factory finished edges where i can and cut off all other bulky seams, i have broken my share of needles. Still haven't used bias tape, kinda avoiding it for now. Thank you, this was inspiring.

As a person who has fought a lot of printers in her time, it looks like you need to do a print nozzle/print head cleaning cycle. If you google "(make [I think you said HP]) (model) print nozzle/print head cleaning", you'll get model-specific instructions, but there should be an option in the maintenance menu to run through a print nozzle and/or print head cleaning cycle. Might have to do it a few times, but it should solve the missing line issue. Love this jacket, came out super cute! 💛🤍💛

It's so cool that you did this! I actually made a hoodie out of towels that I use for the beach. I keep meaning to make one for my son to match, but I keep putting it off. Because I don't really enjoy sewing. Well.. the sewing is fine.. it's the finishing touches I never get around to doing. Maybe I'll just make a poncho for him.

with those plastic zips, you can pull the teeth with needle nose plyers. You can phone around to get the stops for the zips to prevent them from sliding off. Or just hand sew a thick tailors tac on one side of the zip tape. Cute jacket

It came out great for using towels! I agree - on a thick fabric for a garment, I would finish the seams on the serger first and then sew them together ok the sewing machine - then you can press the seams open and it lays better on your body. As far as the serger as a machine, im 100% a vintage metal machine gal. Ive had cheaper machines and they always break. I have a early to mid 1990s Baby Lock serger now and after getting it professionally serviced, ive never had a problem with it. Its a beast and it will mow right through whatever I want it to cut and sew. So if you come across a good vintage one in a thrift store, definitely look up the brand online because some are now a pain to get parts for, but if its a Baby Lock or a Husqvarna or something like that, snap it up and then take it in to be tuned up. Then you'll have a serger just as good as your sewing machine.

Really cute!! You could do a short sleeve version with a hood? Maybe with the pink and yellow? That would be adorable with shorts. ❤😊

It looks really cute! I hope you washed those towels before you sewed this! TJ Max et al is also great for cheap bedsheets which is yards and yards of cotton for big projects; I use them for quilt backing. The pockets would look better if you removed the bais tape and just folded under a half inch before you tacked them down. There would be a raw edge inside, but since you surged it they should be fine.
