Did you ever get the Singer? I'm quite torn between these two exact models but have been hearing some bad things about the pedals and how the singer takes off too quickly at the start when you want to take things slow, so would be interesting to hear the opinion of someone who used both

My favorites are #10 tin organizer, #8 marker organizer, #7 gutter storage and #5 the cardstock files, which I need for my growing cardstock collection from watching The Posh Paper Lady's channel! Thank so much for introducing us to her channel and for this great Favorite Storage DIY video, I'll be working on the all of my favorites through this month and will post the pictures! P.S. I also plan on using the gutter wall storage for my RV! Thanks so much for these wonderful ideas! Wendy

Yeah I feel that you should check the needle some needled place with different fabrics tends to skip stitches. Also I think you just got a defective one. You should change it or use the guaranteed for it.

Whitney, you are absolutely right. I bought mine in September 2020 and to say the least it is inconsistent with the stitches. I'm not a happy camper. Had trouble even sewing some simple covid masks. I have been sewing for three years now and this machine 👎 is just pure empty marketing. Back to my faithful Kenmore 385...

I bought the same Brother Sewing Machine in July 2018, and I've had a load of tension issues, and issues with the stitches (irregular/skipping), right from the start. Sometimes it sews nicely and then for no apparent reason the tension just goes out the window with loops and all sorts. I got so frustrated that I bought another Sewing Machine, different make. Having said that, I have kept this horrible temperamental Brother Sewing Machine because it is tough and strong, nothing else. So I only use this horrible Brother Machine for rough very heavy duty jobs only that don't matter too much. This allows me to use my better machine for the normal regular jobs with nice stitches.

Having the same issue...I got it today
@lucygray61624 жыл бұрын
@@meylanrodriguez6478 Take it back immediately. I waited too long to unbox mine and now I'm stuck with this door stop. Mine wont even sew low loft batting, so I don't expect great things for it as a workhorse. I have other old machines that sew great, but weigh a ton. I'll just have to get that room organized and keep using them. I thought a portable would make things easier. Ha!

I bought this machine not long ago and it advertises that it does 37 stitches but my dile will only go 19 so im confused, what am I not understanding? Can anybody tell me how to use those stitches?
@maxblackso4883 жыл бұрын
I'm laughing cause I have the same issue with my machine and the skipping of the stitches is so freaking frustrating. I'm laughing so hard cause I can feel your frustration through the phone and I I unfortunately didn't make the return window so now I gotta sell it

I stop buying throw away and invested in a baby lock because i also sew for business purposes. I had the singer professional. I also had another singer that was good for quilting, I got it from Joanns for about $200 but both broke down and I traded them in. They both said they wouldn’t skip stitches and they did. The bobbins jam hard towards the end. I also took very good care of them and they didn’t last a year.

I was looking at the BL jubilant. Picking a machine is such a process. It’s hard to find good reviews from people who actually use sewing machines.
@madebydaj3 жыл бұрын
@@kookiemunsta well so far I like mine. No problems yet. I seen a few bad reviews but maybe operator error. Most people I know who have them like them a lot and have been sewing for a very long time and have had their machines for years. I also keep up with my maintenance as well because that’s very important even as little as putting the dust cover on.

To be quite honest I'm little unhappy. This machine is supposed to sew through at least 3-5 layers of jeans. Which is why I bought it. I'm trying to make a tapestry fabric backpack. It's giving to chronic grief!!☹️

I have this same machine and have the same issues. This machine is garbage. Skips stitches, the tension is never consistent mine even has trouble sewing through two layers of LINEN! awful - I always have issues. Sadly, I missed the return date (even more frustrating). Going back to tension: I won't even change it and I can't even get two buttonholes that look the same. I hope people don't waste their money on this like I did.

@WhitneyLu4 жыл бұрын
Aww thank you 😄. They have some zig-zag stitch options that you could you to substitute for a serge.
@NYCisland3 жыл бұрын
You're not going to get a serger type stitches on a sewing machine but all machines do different zigzag stitches which is part of what a serger stitch does.

Mine has been a royal pain in the azz, but I thought it was because my 65 year old sewing machine is a queen. She just isn't portable, tho, so I decided to get the Brother from Overstock. Big disappointment after having a quality workhorse. I had to make 45 toys for charity at Christmas, and thought I would lose my mind. Constant re-threading, picking out thread clots, funky tension--I had a problem on every single toy. I was using a single layer of 100% cotton fabric with a single layer of 100% cotton low-loft batting. No problem for any sewing machine, except this one. The levers are also counter-intuitive from my other machines--I grab for one and it isn't there. It's around the corner. And let's talk about that crappy little light, too. It got worse and worse, so I dragged the half-done toys to the crowded back room where my 1956 cast-iron White lady was waiting patiently....
