My second post…I love it! I’ve made this dress several times and now at want to make it in white. My ultimate fit and flare. The very first one, I struggled with the faux wrap so I wear a matching shell. The last one I made, I made very well, well enough that I should go back and fix the first one…lol. You look stunning and will be a beautiful mother of the bride. I like the bottom as a skirt as well. I’m a maxi girl and this works for me on all levels. I love what you did with the sleeves. Can’t wait to see you all dolled up. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful - the dress, the person in it, the combination... the brilliant idea of using the embroidered tulle to make an overlay skirt. Really classy too. I love it when someone can make something from a pattern. Learning to sew is something that is on my bucket list. I took sewing in high school but never learned a thing. Too many kids in the class. I learn better with 1:1 help.

I’m thrilled you’re demonstrating how you’re putting this dress together! I was likewise, sad to see it wasn’t the traditional wrap version. My daughter fell in love with this as her favourite dress pattern, so I have made it my big project to gift it to her eventually. I can tell this will be a journey. I have been seeking the same colour, but wonder if using a lighter weight fabric might be more realistic die to the amount of fabric involved? Anyway, I would like to start with learning what the fabric colour name and type plus where you purchased it from? This got very long, but I am glad it is you I found doing this DIY. You are one of the best I’ve seen on you tube.

I’m 82 and have a grandson’s wedding September 2025. Will chase up that pattern and start looking for some silver grey fabric. Will use a higher neckline pattern but the original skirt design. Until I watched this I hadn’t given a thought to wearing something glamorous that’ll go with the platinum and diamond earrings that never get worn. September in Australia is early spring.
