This video has been very helpful. Turns out I've been doing my applique all wrong. Thank you for posting this video!

Don't be too hard on yourself. If it stays on the quilt and is loved, then it's not all wrong :-). It's just maybe not as perfect as you would like.

I am impressed with the detail and explanations re the technique. It is so helpful to see and know what methods can cause "problems." Your video gives the reasons why the methods work and it makes so much sense. Thank you for these demos. Excellent instruction

Hi Mary: I just made myself learn a new thing! I figured out how to take a video and make it a mirror image so that it looks like I'm sewing left-handed (you are left-handed, aren't you?). The text is all backwards, but everything else works. Email me at becky.pieceocake@gmail.com and I'll send it to you. If it makes sense, I'll go in and flip the remaining videos for and post them. That will take a while, but I can do it!

Me again. I just went ahead and uploaded the video for lefties... more will come as I have time.

Thanks for all that!!! So quick too....I am not left handed, but I do then to sew "backwards" form most. All my hand sewing I do opposite or "backwards" from others... works for me. You videos are great!

You may be sewing toward yourself, which is my natural direction to sew, and the direction you see in this video. But, most people sew with the horizon, so that is what I teach in class show in videos. There are a number of less common directions that people sew and I've seen most of them in classes. The real key, no matter the direction, is to make a good stitch and to be sure your hands and joints are not stressed. I hope the videos I have made do help you with that :-).
