Sewing Room Update! Bernina b435 Unboxing

Hey, everyone! I'm back with another sewing video and I have some amazing news to share with you. I just got a brand new Bernina B 435 sewing machine and I'm in love with it. This is going to be my main machine from now on because I don't need a quilting machine anymore since I'm learning how to use a long-arm machine.
This Bernina is awesome for so many reasons. First of all, it's super quiet, so I can sew without disturbing anyone. Second, the stitches on the touch screen are exactly the same size as the ones on the fabric, so I know what I'm getting. Third, it has so many features that make sewing easier and more enjoyable. For example, threading and winding the bobbin is a breeze, and the bobbin can hold a lot more thread than my old machine. The only thing is that I have to oil the machine after each bobbin, but that's not a big deal. Another thing I love is that the foot pedal stays in place on my floor, thanks to the rubber feet. The touchscreen is also very user-friendly and the machine looks sleek and modern. I can't wait to take it with me to my next retreat and show it off.
One thing that was important to me when I acquired my new machine was learning that Bernina continues making all the parts for each of their sewing machines 20 years after they've been discontinued! Wow!

I think I’m going to have sewing machine envy, lol. That is one of the machines I’m eyeing as an upgrade to my 30+ year old, very trusty Bernina.

There’s no going back to any other brand now! Welcome to the family, lol! I bought my first used Bernina in 1986 and finally upgraded to the B500 series in 2015. They’re work horses and so worth the investment. I still use my old bernina as a backup when the new one is getting its annual servicing.

A straight stitch plate for piecing is well worth the money. Caveat....you must remove and replace with zigzag for other stitches. You will never have edges pulled into the feed dogs as it will literally sew air.

Good morning! One of the tensioners is at the top of the thread path. Get into a habit of needle up and foot up when rethreading. This opens the tensioner. It's a journey. Happy sewing.

Good morning Em! Giggling over your intro to Bernina feet. Height jumpers are invaluable. May I suggest the Bernina foot book red cover in your purse! As it does no good at home and you could own, oh, I don't know, duplicate feet...😅 Look into #71 Lap seam foot for binding. For oiling, your ear will get trained to hear when your new baby needs oil. Enjoy every moment.
