Love the dress and it inspires me to SEW. It would make a nice NIGHTGOWN too!

I thought that too!! I was thinking it would be cute with a corset belt, too, but couldn’t try it out b/c I don’t have one. Thanks so much for watching and I’m glad you felt inspired!

Lara, I have this pattern. I'm so glad you made it because it looks so great on you. I love the cuffs. The fabric is the perfect choice too! Love it!🥰

Thank you, Grace!! I think I’ve decided I love it, too! It’s an easy win and the fabric helps make it a little more special, too! Hope you’re having a great week! Thanks so much for watching!❤️

Hi Lara! Such a very pretty dress! That fabric was a great choice. I was not interested in making this pattern before because of the cover photo, but I will reconsider now. (I know, I know…you should look at the line drawings not just the cover photo…but first impressions do matter!) I loved your idea of splitting the gathers into smaller, more manageable sections. Great job on creating the arm cuff bands! Last week I made a lightweight cardigan (S8811) for a family member. (It’s hot where she is too and she won’t need to wear it for a while, but I made it to replace a favorite cardigan of hers that was lost in a house fire a few months ago 😢 It cheered her up a lot 😊) I have decided that I am not making anything new for myself until I do a much needed (and much postponed 😬) closet and dresser clean out. I plan on working on that TODAY (I mean it for real this time 😜) That was a lovely park setting and I enjoyed the tour at the end 🙂

I’m sorry to hear about your friend’s house fire. It’s so nice you were able to give her back a little bit of her pre-fire world. I can’t imagine how tough that would be… And ugh! I need a clean out, too! I have quite a few things I made early on but never wear, and don’t want to wear. They’re just taking up space and I should probably just send them to recycling. I hope you had great success with cleaning everything out and can get back to having fun sewing!!❤️😁

@@LaraSchiffbauer UPDATE: I cleaned out my closet yesterday!! 🎉👏 I took out so much stuff I hadn’t been wearing. I still need to go thru my dressers, but I’m very happy with what I got done so far 😁

@@michelle.z Awesome! I love that feeling that comes after purge-cleaning. It just feels so light and somehow cleaner to me. Of course, maybe I'm just weird... :D

Your dress came out very cute. I've been making Helen's Closet Ashton tops. I just cut out #4. I think I got my adjustments correct on #3, but then it shrank in the laundry! I had prewashed and dryed and ironed. It was such a bummer. No more cheap-o cotton from Joann's.

I hate when that happens! It happened with my rayon shirt I made last year w/ fabric from FabricMart. I’ve kept it in hopes I might lose some weight and be able to wear it, but I think I’m going to have to just give it away.🙂↕️ I’ve seen the Ashton tops and they’re such a nice, versatile top! And perfect for the hot weather. Thanks so much for watching the video!❤️

Such a cute dress Lara and I love the fabric. No it isn't hot here 😂. Summer is not coming to the UK this year that's for sure unless we get what we call an Indian Summer in Sept. Still in trousers over here 🤣. Apart from about 2 days it hasn't gone over 70f so far. Can we house swap?! I love this series, thanks so much for your video and pattern review ❤ xx

Thank you, Carole! We have really been having heat waves. It’ll be lower 80s and then-bam!-90+. Thankfully tomorrow we should be starting to go down. 70s are perfect for me, so I’d love to swap!!😝 Thanks so much for watching the video and the nice comment!❤️❤️❤️

“40-50% humidity” *cries in 83% humidity* But actually, YES, it is hot everywhere. Once you get above a certain point, it’s all the same. I felt it in my soul when you talked about being worried that it would be too big, but not knowing why. I think it’s how big the pattern pieces look? All the time I cut things out and I’m like “oh that’s HUGE” and it’s totally fine. 🫣 Your dress is so beautiful and I think it looks so comfortable!

There is definitely a reason I don’t live further south! Coming from Wyoming, it’s taken me 9 years to adjust to feeling the air!😂 Thank you so much for the nice things you said about the dress. By the time I took it off I had decided that I like it quite a bit. And I love the fabric! Rayon-linen mayb have just become my favorite fabric of all time!😄
