Loved seeing you back, Polly! I hope that you're settling into the new job. The color of that tulle is unbelievable! It's gorgeous. You couldn't have planned that better!

Thank you lovely! I feel last 4 months were a blur to me. The tulle and this gorgeous color will be put to a good use, let see. Hope you are well, haven’t had any time for KZbin lately. You won’t believe it but I am still waiting for the chocolate silicon shape I saw from your Vlogmas…. I really want to have it now and make all the hot coco with the kids… in the upcoming summer months 😂😉😄

I didn't expect that colour! I've dyed jeans using dylon and had great results 👍

Me neither! I am glad to hear dyeing jeans worked for you. What color did you use? I am now thinking to dye some of my husband jeans in dark blue. Thank you for sharing your experience here!
@annettecowburn10962 жыл бұрын
@@thesewingedit I got bleach on some dusky pink one's so I used a weak bleach solution to take put all the colour then I dylon coloured them plum. That was 18minths ago and the colour is still great. It is a long process but well worth it. 👌

@@annettecowburn1096 this I find very interesting. Why do you decolor them when you anyway going to use such intensive dark color? I would not have thought about bleaching jeans before dyeing them. Btw, u are giving me great hopes for my newly colored black jeans, they are completely like new!

@@thesewingedit it says on the packet that it doesn't colour bleach marks so I thought I would try removing all the colour first it and it worked out .

I’m so happy to see you back! Your jeans look great! I loved the black…true black. What a surprise on the tulle; not what I expected to see. I loved the salmon pink! Now, anxious to see what you are going to make😊 Your sewing sister, Cheryl

Great to see you again, Polly! The pink turned out so cool! :D a few months ago I tried dying some old bedsheets with the same Dylon pods. I thought they'd come out great because they were 100% cotton. Unfortunately the fabrics came out blotchy. I think it's because the sheets were old and had some wear in certain places. And the die came out more strong in these places. Ah well, you live and you learn. :P

Thank you Marie! I am curious did you use enough of these washing machine plastic pods? I saw 1 pod can color 600gr of dried fabric - bed sheets can get quite heavy. Also, I read at the instructions that the fabric should be properly damp (mine were nearly soaking wet) and it should not be folded when placed in the washing drum. I was actually thinking of dyeing some bedsheets too. Will report the results. 😘

@@thesewingedit I used 2 pods because it was indeed too much for one. I *think* I soaked the fabric before, but it's a while ago, so I'm not 100% sure ☺️. I hope yours turn out better! :D

Looks amazing Polly! I just dyed some denim yesterday (started to fade a little from the black it was) but it got me wondering about de-coloring fabric before coloring it. Have you got any tips? Or maybe anybody else? Great to see you back!
@thesewingedit2 жыл бұрын
Hey Linda, how funny you were dyeing denim too?! What dye did you use? I am impressed with my jeans - I can fairly say they look like a completely new pair. As to your de-coloring question I immediately think of bleach and water solution which you can soak your clothes in. But I know this also destroy the fibre especially if it is natural fabric. I know that these days some dyeing companies actually offer fabric color remover but not sure what the content of it is. You got me thinking too. Wouldn’t it be nice to bleach some denim …. ? 😁

Hey Lynn, there is very interesting project coming up with the tulle - it will ether be. Total win or a total disaster. Either way, I have to try it and get it out of my hand and apply it with hands :) to be continued … xx
