My granddaughter and I made her bedroom curtains together when she was 7 years old. I was amazed at how straight she sewed. We picked out the material together and she did a great job. It was fun and something she still talks about. She is 15 now.

Sweeeeeet!! He presses the lever with such conviction. I, too, have a 6 year old grandson who loves to "sew" with me. He takes a long bit of leftover binding and tests out many of the decorative stitches, with supervision, of course. I think he's mainly interested in pushing all the icons on the machine and letting 'er rip down the strip. I think it's important to make memories with our little peeps. The bag is very cute.

Awesome time spent with your grandson! I used to put a chair next to me like this when my Jamie was 2-3. I gave him my little sewing machine screwdriver and he would “fix” his matchbox cars while I sewed. Later I taught him to sew pillow cases. Sadly he likes baseball and basketball more than sewing nowadays.

Sooo cute. Boys do have a fascination with sewing machines. I took a sewing class as a substitute teacher. The boys particularly liked sewing on the sewing machines creatively holding their concentration really well.
