The way you insert the ties is so clever! I love it!! I get so annoyed running drawstring through casings. I'll try this method next time I make an elastic waistband.

Anne, hello there! I actually do that with elastic too, but I don't show it in my tutorials as it can get confusing :) but yes, I get annoyed too, you and me on this one :) the only trick is to make sure you don't catch the ties/elastic in the seam.

So I finally found a source to buy some Ukrainian fabric and here is a video of what I made following this tutorial. Oh and I actually found it easier just to attach a safety pin and pull the drawstring through the casing kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKKZe56HrJ2oprs
