I'm attacking a minky fabric to the back of my quilt. I attached the walking foot, but it seems to pull on the minkey, therefore, stretching the minkey. Is there a way to give more space to allow the feeding of minkey fabric?

Can I use the walking foot for strip piecing as well as quilting?

My shank keeps dropping off while sewing even though screw is as tight as I can turn it. Why? How can I fix this?

Could this foot be used on a thick upholstery like cotton twill or canvas? Also, would a different heavier duty needle be needed?
