I absolutely LOVE how transparent you are about prices ! I am NOT a professional that makes what a Doctor makes, but, I appreciate that you are so transparent on costs and NEVER look down on folks who can't afford what you can ! We all have our own paths, & you are always kind & clear that costs do NOT "make the maker", 'making' does !

Seconding! I love how you're so low-key and no-judgment about it -- it can be hard to talk/hear about money without it being stressful and you totally manage it! I especially appreciate it from you because I'm often thinking about how I can take some of the ideas I get from your channel and apply them to my own making, and hearing how much things you're using cost gives me a concrete frame of reference so I can consider what's affordable for me while I'm thinking about my own potential projects.

Since you are going to need to 'redesign' your sewing room; I'll offer an idea that a friend of mine that lives in Singapore has done. Her sewing room work table is built like a murphy bed--- the table folds into a wall cabinet. Her sewing machine sits on a table that is also a murphy bed-- you can see that design on youtube in places where the folded up position is a computer desk (hers is the sewing machine table) and then when you 'pull it down' the work table becomes the footing of a fold down twin bed. Just an idea to give you more working area in a smaller space.

I knew your sewing space was large, but I didn't realize just how big it was. Completely understand why you describe it as your dream sewing room. Loved your description of what size your cutting table was and why it's important (or not as the case may be). Completely envious, as someone who sews on the diningroom table.

You have a DREAM of a sewing room! It's sad that your next one may not have as much space. And WHAT ABOUT YOUR MURAL??? Its so beautiful! I also appreciate your listing prices on those fabrics. I'll never be able to afford them, but I get a lot of vicarious pleasure from seeing the amazing gowns you create from them!

❤❤❤❤❤ I loved the tour of your sewing room. Also, you look wonderful in your cottagecore dress. This may sound silly but what I enjoyed the most was you and your husband making the bed and how gently your husband moved the limp puppy off the sheets. It was such a sweet gesture and you are clearly an excellent team. My father said that marriage is like three ships: Courtship, Friendship and Partnership. You clearly have 3 very strong and sturdy ships in your marriage. Sending lots of good vibes and blessing on your move the New Jersey. You’ll be my neighbor I hope as I live in NYC. Welcome to the East Coast.

I love that you're giving the dimensions of your table as well as your height (and by crazy coincidence, we're just about the same height--I'm 5' 1/4"). Ergonomics is such an overlooked topic when it comes to designing your creative work spaces.

This video is very apropos. I was just gifted from my family a 750 square foot sewing/craft space that was redone entirely just for me. I've always had just a small spare bedroom to accommodate all my hobbies and this is the first time where I am able to walk about and not knock anything over. I'm in the process of setting it all up but feel so fortunate to even call this place my own. I hope your new adventures lead you to great and happy beginnings and this space will surely give me inspiration for my own space!

I love those cups too! I was in the hospital a few times last year (tongue cancer surgery, then revision surgery, and complications, etc., but I'm doing well now, and my last scan showed no evidence of disease). For quite a bit of it, I was NPO (couldn't have anything by mouth), but the patient techs kept my cup full anyways so my partner was always hydrated, which was so kind of them, and which I will always be grateful for.

I totally get why you’re sad to leave that sewing space. It’s a good 200ft larger than my current apartment. And twice the size of my last apt. 😂😭super glad I took of knitting instead of sewing. Def space saving hobby in comparison. Lol. seriously that black and white fabric for the 1870s gown Is going to be complete fire on you. I love love love the fabric and the cut will look so good on you. I also can’t wait to see your felicity dresses! I loved her and Molly when I was a kid but josefina was my fave. What a dream sewing room! I had a fairly nice one when I was renting a flat from my girlfriend’s mom and I used the front sitting room as my sewing room. Lots of room for a big cutting table which doubled as my sewing table (a dining room table with extension from IKEA). Now in my own house, my sewing room is also my office (I work from home) with hardly any room for sewing. 😢. I hope your new home in New Jersey will have a big enough room for all your needs! 😊

This is like a dream sewing room. Beautiful. I wish I could have a big room like this and if we ever move I will make sure we do. Currently I have taken over our formal dining room (which we never need) for my sewing/altar room. However, I have gotten a bigger machine and I always end up cutting larger pieces either on the floor or dining room table since my folding cutting table is not big enough. It would be nice to have this much space dedicated to costuming and crafts. Have a great move!
