I just saw this company at a quilt show. The quilts look so daunting yet beautiful! You really made it look doable. Thank you.

This quilt is definitely going on my wishlist. Great idea to use the file folders to stay organized.

Hi Laura, I love foundation paper piecing, an you took the "scare factor" out for the folks that weren't quite sure. Happy Quilting. ❤❤❤

I always struggle with paper-piecing, but this little video makes some more sense to me. Thank you!😊

Great ideas to minimize fabric waste. I am used to cutting pieces much larger than needed, so I have "enough".

I love the idea of using file folders both to organize and cut!

I’ve seen a few of these Legit quilts completed but I’ve not seen the process - quite the undertaking but so worth it! They’re beautiful and now that I know what’s involved - so much respect! Thank you, Laura, for this video. Your organization is wonderful!

That is gorgeous. I do like my sewing to be a little less complicated as I use sewing/quilting for relaxation, but it might be fun to try, I saw a polar bear one recently and it was also gorgeous.! I can see why getting a kit would make it a LOT less complicated, but also you can alter the colors as you see fit, so a blue frog with whatever backgrounds.

I did the Goldfinch and used my own hand dyed fabric. It was a fun project but quilting was a challenge because of a lot of super thick seams. I used white denim as batting, which made for a better, flatter, wall hanging.

Love the idea of using denim as a batting. Great idea. Btw, how did u quilt it?

Would love to do a Legit Kit. Question - when you lay the large piece down, and the fabric isn't the same in bith sides, is the pattern placed on the wrong side of the fabric with the printed pattern facing up? Hope this makes sense
@LegitKits6 күн бұрын
When using prints, the wrong side of the printed fabric will be facing the back of the pattern. For example, with her first fabric "TM - Tomato" she used a glue stick on the "back" of the solid, so you would glue stick the wrong side of your printed fabric piece #1 and attach to paper. Then piece #2 would be placed against piece #1 with right sides together. Then sew, flip, and press into place. That way the right sides of fabric are all facing away from the back of the pattern paper. We use solids in the kits because there are no wrong sides, so it's a little easier to piece and quilters don't have to worry about directionality or right vs wrong sides. A lot of people have made Legit Kits quilts with prints and they come out very cool. If you make one, please let us know!
