Great ideas, but what if the hole is not on a seem, is there hope for pants like that?

+Vaperkitten Reed Well! that is more of a problem, you will have to make a patch, and stitch it from behind. See if you can cut a piece out of the back of the waist band, that way it is the same fabric. Hope this helps:)
