Yes, just that he contradicts himself completely if you let him talk long enough, if you consider that honesty that's fine. Total mess of a mind that guy has and it's for real, it's not for show, he never turns off.

@@thestr8person totally agree there really is no off button even in his early 60's. Witness the interviews on this website - even mild mannered interviewers are ridiculed, talked down to and patronised - especially the ones who don't shower him with praise.

That is true,Anne Beverly Mother from Sid Vicious saw this before she died of an overdose and she was upset what John Lydon aka Johnny Rotten said about Sid.
@Houl239 жыл бұрын
+Daniela Schwarz Yes , it's hard what John says about Sid. He's maybe really honest when he talks about Sid in the film "the filth and the fury". Sid was not a good bass player but when he joins the pistols he was learning bass and he really tried to play bass . But after heroin did a dirty work on him ... and then to learn bass was not a priority. Glen stays the original bass player and he's a fabulous bass player and songwriter.

Houl23 Yes it is hard and I read tha Anne Beverly,you know all that Anne was his mum and she was heroin addicted since 1962,but in some interviews he talk great about Sid and that he missed him and that Johnny was to young to handle with his dead because his mum died in november on terminal cancer and I lost my mum too:( Anyway the shit heroin cancle your feelings and your creativity,you are right).... So,when his mum saw this video she was so upset what Johnny said about SID and then or few day´s afer this interview from Johnny she made a overdose in September 1996.

I remember watching all this when I was like 11 or 12?! The Sex Pistols was the coolest shit I ever discovered back then . I worked for a record store handing out flyers , I hung out and just looked through records all day .. what made this store great , is about half of their records were bootlegs of live shows or rarities . My first CDs were Great Rock n Roll Swindle and then a couple live double disc releases . And then outta nowhere , Johnny Rotten was back and pissed off and I was ALL IN . I never got to see them live , but it was surreal to be exposed to Green Day/Rancid/Pennywise/NoFX and other skin/NYHC bands , then have this OG maniac show up to fuxking spank everyone haha . Damn this brought back memories man . I’m punching out!

"We invented punk?" LOL! Johnny's ailing memory should be reminded that he cites The Ramones & The NY Dolls as key influences. The Pistols & The Clash were listening to both bands long before any of 'em signed a record deal. The Ramones are still universally regarded as the Fathers Of Punk. That signature time beat in all of 2-minutes or less has become the blueprint for a genre of music known as "punk."

well, one bottom line of true punk is provocation (another is rebellion). this is what they do here. I went to the Filthy Lucre Show in '96, and this now seems like a century ago ...this video in retrospective is a bit dated. I keep on playing their music as it gives me strength in this world that goes down the drain and seems sometime to make no sense at all. As the Ten Years After sang: "I wish I could change it but I do not know how....". Keep rockin' ya' all
