Another problem with drugs effects that I see is sometimes it's hard to know how bad an effect is until you feel it yourself. Prescribers who don't know what not being able to orgasm is like have no clue how intimately terrifying it is. Just seeing it on paper or from another's mouth does some experiences no justice. It's really hard to provide informed consent when words don't convey experience. User reviews are usually way better for getting an idea how something might impact a life.

The idea of it scares me and that’s enough to know that it must be extremely scary for anyone that experiences it. I am not a doctor, nor have I taken antidepressants, but it upsets me that doctors don’t take people’s complaints seriously. If the patients were able to orgasm before taking the medication and that is the only thing that changed, that should be the first thing to blame. I have seen doctors on forums dismiss it as sexual dysfunction due to depression - claiming it must be another symptom of depression or stress, despite the fact the patients were able to perform prior to taking the drugs.

​@M Z I transformed my life some years back. It is quite easy to stop anti-depressants. Get rid of the root cause. Misfiring of neurons in the brain. After 10 days of the following meditation which I have mentioned slowly reduce dosage and taper of after 20 days. Take only if needed. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing anxiety-stress. For a relaxed life without anxiety-stress sit on a chair, back erect, hands on lap with palms upwards, eyes closed, be still and observe your incoming--outgoing breath, body sensations, any soft buzzing sound in the head for around 10-15 minutes. Be as still as possible. Plenty of thoughts will come which is ok--slowly negative thoughts will reduce and your mind will relax with no desire for pills. Mind is reprogrammed. I was on it for a few days (about 3) taking both 5mg. & 10 mg. I had a really hard time sleeping on 10 mg. On both 5mg. & 10mg. I was slurring my words when I talked, slowed down/sedated, hard time putting my words together. I noticed these side effects being on it: bumpy rash on my back and hands, dry mouth, very dry cracked lips, nervousness, drowsiness, a few times a bout of dizziness/blurred vision, disrupted/anxious/light sleep (while on 10 mg.), constipation, pounding/fast heartbeat, a few pounds weight gain, shaky hands. That was all noticed in just a few days, like 3 or 4 days. Maynw they try to put people on it to sterilize them knowing that it basically does just that. I was only on it a few days, so I guess my libido isn't affected because I still feel sexy. LoL.

(& they kept trying to keep me there for even longer than that!). They kept trying to give me meds. while I was there those days (I was not previously on ANY meds.). Well, that was a while back, and I'm still here alive and kicking ass. You can't have sex???? So, you're useless in bed? What's your age? Why are you telling me? Isn't that private info., like just something you'd tell to someone that you're being or possibly being intimate with? It's probably going to be difficult for you to find someone (meaning someone beyond platonic friendship) if you can't even have sex with them.

Despite knowing about sexual side effect, I did more research and I discovered it could be permanent. Never taken one more, numbness disappeared fast. @@cesarcahuis7445 Sooner or later anti-depressants have major side effects. It is quite easy to stop AD. Get rid of the root cause. Mind is going crazy. I transformed my life some years back. After 10 days of the following meditation slowly reduce dosage and tape of after 20 days. Take only if needed. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing anxiety-stress. For a relaxed life without anxiety-stress sit on a chair, back erect, hands on lap with palms upwards, eyes closed, be still and observe your incoming--outgoing breath, body sensations, any soft buzzing sound in the head for around 10-15 minutes. Be as still as possible. Plenty of thoughts will come which is ok--slowly negative thoughts will reduce and your mind will relax with no desire for pills. Mind is reprogrammed.
