i don't know what it is that makes your playing so ᴠery different than other pianists' playing but listening to you always makes me want to cry and cheer simultaneously. As i said before: even in the loudest parts there is this softness in your touch that goes right into the listeners soul. It is, at least to my ears, so unique, it can't be just a matter technique. There must be something else going on...💕

Dear may iask, I believe that your compliment eclipses all others that I have ever received. I am speechless in responding. Of course there are multiple issues involved in expressing music on an instrument. In my case I assign extreme importance to each and every note that I perceive as being vital to the whole composition. While I am playing, I try very hard not to interfere too much but rather to remain open so that the music plays me.Heartfelt thanks for your deeply moving message.Seymour

What an amazing interpretation. It's like, knowing the musical rules, while being free, getting back to why the rules were made for, for the essence of beauty to reach the soul. Hard to describe, it kind of makes the heart resonate. Thank you for sharing ❤

After bumping into a video of a pianist talking that made sense, I obviously wanted to hear him play. Just to see if he truly knew what he's talking about when he's talking. He knows himself those two things can be planes apart. But I was most gracefully gratified by what I heard, so here I am to say "thank you".

It's beautiful, one could almost be forgiven for the audacious suspicion that you think of Bach as of someone who is both human enough to have an emotional side, and a good enough composer to use the connections between music and emotions in his work. Great record, I bet you're gonna go far!

the music is as if a soul speaks, sharing blood warm human sounds of a soul with a heart pealed off I hear I feel fragility, the tenderness of doubt, profound acceptance of all there is as it is, hauntingly comforting, gentle and caring as love can be.

Not as good as Gould…. Not by a long shot.

Different... Bernstein's Aria is a diaphanous painting, a romantic approach with vaporous contours that plunges me into a melancholic reverie. Gould's neutral interpretation is to me a blank canvas where every feeling has been removed; a more depressing one some days, and a real nirvana some others. I like them both.

@@battery781 He tried to explain what both interpretations meant for him; relying on poetry is the only way to express what music feels like. In fact the only one who is pretentious here is you, for while he explained himself and always stated it was his personal perception, you said it was worse than Gould's, period, like you decide what's good and what's not. Also I agree Gould's interpretation pales against this one, even if I personally like it.

My friend this interpretation of the Goldbergs Variations is full of soul unlike Gould's..
