Common question: Do you have to flip the wiring when you flip the neck pickup? Answer: No, the physical orientation does not affect the phase/polarity electrically, so no wiring changes need to be made.

Hey Lucas. Ordering these today. Thanks for the demo. Really sold me. Obviously wiring wasn't an issue. Any issue by reversing the neck with install? (Ie, screws...fire.....side the wires are on the pickup). I wanna be sure to provide my local luthier all the needed info. Cheers

@@paperhanger29 I had no issues with installing it in the standard Gibson cavity route there, but your mileage may vary of course. And if you use the triple shot ring the install will be even easier.

very good video I watch quite a few on these P rails I have a feequestions maybe you can answer Does it matter which way the rail is orientated? Have you tried it both ways? And is there a big change in sound if you did? is the P90 humbucking when you use it and can you wire it so that it is humbucking and still get a P90 sound? thanks

OMFG I am in love, I am going thru a p-90 phase having recently played on them for the first time, but having those wired in series sounds AMAZING, such a throaty, growly sound, with the best articulation and upper mids, those would cut thru any mix or live sound with ease! I'm returning to this video after about a year after watching this video and running out to install these pickups in my new epi LP Custom. I can't say enough about how great these pickups are. So versatile. I can go from playing ac/d to SRV with the flick or pull of a switch. I had mine put in just like this guy suggested with the neck pickup reversed and I think that made a tremendous difference. Don't hesitate!! This video is legit

Great phrasing and I’m sold. Prails are going in the Epiphone. Upgraded everything with switchcraft push/pull coil split. Going to make sure the blade goes close to the neck like you did. Hopefully, this will be a really nice set up. Thanks for the review.

The SRV sounds from the neck rail are very close to a genuine single coil; very cool. A lot of reviews only focus on the bridge pickup or both pickups while ignoring the neck, so I appreciate you showcasing the neck sounds. I only wish you'd recorded some clean tones, but many people play with at least some overdrive. Great no-frills review. These are very versatile.

Great demo. Nice tasty playing too. I just ordered a P Rail (bridge) for my (40-year-old) 335. I have a (40-year-old) Duncan 59 in the neck. Your demo made me look even more forward to installing the P in my 335. Gonna be interesting having a single-coil kinda in the middle on a 335. I really like those pickup rings. Great idea. I didn't know they even existed. I will have a 3-way mini switch for the P. Keep up the great demo vids and thanks! Cheers.

Thank you for the hearties :-) I am strongly considering to change the 57 Classic's in my 1990 Les Pauls Studio to P-Rails... I do not use my tone knobs ever (on none of my 3 guitars), so I could install a 3 Way Switch instead of the tone poentiometers for every pickup (I really hate the idea of the frame switches. I play live a lot and it just screams "BREEAAAAAAAKING IN THE WORST MOMENT!!!!!!!!!" for me). I play a Helix (LT) as well so I could do lots of stuff with the different pickup settings on the guitar in conjunction with my presets. God damn, now I am really teased and curious... Gnahhhh I am going to do it any ways. I know it. Ask me in 10 months, and my Les Paul will sound like a wobbly down tuned Tele with bad strings ^^

I've just put these into a £300 guitar. The Kramer Assault 220 FR. The pickups were more expensive. £682 in total. I can guarentee you cannot buy a stock guitar for that price that plays so damn well. These pickups, floyd rose, les paul shape, lightest thing in the world. Mind blown. Especially Kramer being a Gibson owned company, the les paul shape just looks right. Thankyou for posting this video, this inspired me to do it in the first place.

Michael Kelly Mod Shop Patriot Instinct Duncan has this stock out-of-the-box minus the FR (and I have other guitars with the FR when I need that). The Michael Kelly is a much higher quality beautiful guitar for much less than building-up a lesser Kramer (and I guess you could add a FR to it if you really wanted). Just an alternate for your consideration.

I just did it on my Epiphone Les Paul Custom (SG with 3 pickups) but just used the P-rails pair an extra SD bridge humbucker. All 3 with coil splitting, set up to turn off the P90s on the split to get the single coils because I do not have the triple shots yet. Impressive versatility. Technically I Have a Duo sonic-dual-triple-p90-Humbucker gain beast. I'll probably keep this guitar forever.
