This is straight up what ACTUAL SCIENTISTS AND HISTORIANS think ACTUALLY HAPPENED with the domestication of almonds. Wild almonds (called bitter almonds according to scientists, what we eat are sweet almonds) are highly toxic and sometimes deadly, domestic almonds are highly nutritious, meaning some civilization spent multiple decades selectively breeding a DEATH POISON PLANT into something safe to eat for *no reason* other than presumably some guy said “hey bro I bet I can eat this” and went through all that effort just for bitter nut to not be so full of cyanide

The “on and off again” with lightsabers is actually a Jedi fighting style. The problem is that it’s incredibly hard to do and very dangers because as you bypass your opponents block, you cannot block to protect yourself. The last know Jedi to fight using this technique (who’s name I have forgotten) was a woman who wielded multiple lightsabers using the Force. As in, she held one lightsaber as she fought, while also controlling like 6 others at the same time through the force. Needless to say, she was awesome. Multiple force wielded lightsabers and the most dangerous fighting style know to Jedi.

Turning your light saber on and off is AN ACTUAL FIGHTING STYLE IN THE STAR WARS UNIVERSE
@battlesheep25525 жыл бұрын
It’s also not very smart most of the time. In a saber fight, they don’t really block or parry as much as attack at the same time such as the blades meet in the middle. Just want to say - I believe there is 1 Star Wars character (a Sith Lord of the Old Republic era) who specialized around turning his blade off and on again during combat. The reason most don't do that, though, is because it requires immense precision and speed, and carries huge risk. If you aren't precise enough, you might turn the blade off too early, hinting to your attacker what your intentions are and leaving you vulnerable. You also might turn it on too early, igniting your own blade inside theirs which at best will fuse the blades together and the only way to separate them would then be for one of you to switch off your lightsaber (the worst-case scenario is that, since the blade is technically part of the circuit, both lightsaber power cores will be overloaded and explode simultaneously, destroying both lightsabers and the wielding hand of both you and your opponent). Also if you're not at least as fast than your opponent, they will have time to recognize what you've done and strike you down before you can hit them (if you're as fast as them, they'll be momentarily confused by the disappearance of your blade, giving you enough time to re-ignite inside their guard and strike them first).

11:47 ACTUALLY, there is. I forgot the name of it, but it's a sort of elite lightsaber fighting style that is very difficult to master. It's basically exactly like the post. For example, when someone goes to block a lightsaber, the one swinging their lightsaber very quickly turns off their lightsaber, going past the other person's block, and turns it back on for a killing blow. I love refreshing my Star Wars knowledge for when the new movie comes out. :))))
