Just got an SF2000 yesterday to replace a T5 in my small tent and within minutes my plants reacted like crazy to it! I know I just got it but after just one day and everything I've seen from you guys and the other channels I watch I feel like I can say Spider Farmer is the shit!! Nice makeshift 3000!

Yeah, going from T5's to one of these SF series lights is crazy. We were using T5's and blurpie lights at first, and the results under these have been so much better.

sf-2000 is best for 2ftx3ft flowering. ive seen enough 3rd party testing and my own showing sf 2000 working best in a 2ftx3ft tent there just isnt enought light for the edges for filling a 2x4 with optimal even growth. i currently use sf2000 and sf1000 in my oversized 2x4 and and i hang them around 20-30 inches from the canopy. it has been a game changer for sure.

I have both of these lights and just looking to find out are these measurements from the floor up or the distance between the top of the plant and the light
@TheHippieGeeks3 жыл бұрын
All of our measurements are from the light to the "canopy" which in this case is 1 inch off of the floor as that is the height of the sensor. However, the distance listed is from the sensor to the light, so 12" would be 12" above the sensor, or 13" from the floor.

Thanks for the vid! I rushed out and got 2 sf2000's for my 4x4, thinking it would be even enough numbers, but it's not perfect. I'm fixated on doing a SOG so I have the brilliant idea of doing 4 sf2000's and dimming it to around 600w. These numbers would be pretty close to what I'm out to achieve, thanks again for the content brother

Before buying any more SF-2000, check out the SE-7000 on their website. We haven't gotten it to test yet, but I really like the SE-5000 and the SE-7000 would fill out a 4x4 tent really nicely. This is of course if you have the funds, as that thing is not cheap. Just another possibility though, especially if you are concerned about having even light across the canopy.
@drimages16493 жыл бұрын
@@TheHippieGeeks it's all I could afford at the time and it works out slightly cheaper. Plus the way the lights are arranged it will end up having a gap in the centre, the light spread will be more even than the se7000

It is a bit. This tent at least was pretty small, when I do the measurements with the 5'x5' grid there six different heights, and each height needs 121 measurements. Then add in the measurements at different power levels and I am up above 1000 different readings before it is all said and done =)
@dustincallison76503 жыл бұрын
What height do you hang your sf4000 during flower? And what setting do you have it on? Thx
@TheHippieGeeks3 жыл бұрын
Our SF-4000's are the old style without dimmers, so they were at full power. In flower we had them at right around 24" above the canopy, which was giving us 750-850 PAR at the canopy. We had to raise them up at the end though when we had that heat spike, we just couldn't cool the garage down enough and had to get the lights a bit further from the plants. One thing to remember though is that we had three of the lights in the same tent, so they were able to splash each other with light which brought our PAR levels up. I am working on getting an updated SF-4000 so that I can test its light levels out, and will also be doing things like this where I try the different lights out in different tents to see how they do. Hope that helps!

@TheHippieGeeks3 жыл бұрын
If I find the right one on Amazon, it looks like it only pulls 135 watts from the wall, which is a bit low for that size of tent. However, I feel that it is better to do the best you can with what you have, rather than doing nothing at all. If you do upgrade down the road however you will likely see better results :)

I run the SF2000 & SF1000 like this in a 2x4. 80% is my limit using hanging height to adjust. At 100% I get temp issues.

@The Hippie Geeks I have this exact set up about to start my first grow. I'm still trying to understand all these par figures. Would you mind sharing the light height and dimmer % at each stage of growth 👍
@TheHippieGeeks3 жыл бұрын
What I can do is share the light levels that we look like at the different stages of growth. When a seed pops we like to have the light level between 100-150 PAR. We will slowly increase that over the first three weeks up to around 350 PAR. Over the course of veg, we will be increasing the light levels to around 550 PAR. Getting into flower, we steadily increase the light levels to the 750 PAR level. Now, all of that is going to change depending on how the plant reacts to the light. Some will want more, some will want less it just kind of depends. With those numbers in mind, you should be able to use the PAR readings we show along with the PAR x multipliers to find what the best height / dim settings are.

How was the heat in the tent? my sf2000, makes it about 80 during the day
@TheHippieGeeks3 жыл бұрын
It is hard to say that, as it is going to depend on the ambient air temperature, and the amount of air changes the fan is able to do. We don't do indoor grows in the winter as we can't keep the tents cool enough =)

It is a bit small, Spider Farmer lists the SF-1000 as able to cover a 2'x2' area. What you can do though is hang them both on one side of the tent, and give yourself room to expand with more light later =)

Thanks for the great video! I have the same setup, but my sf1000 is the one without the dimmer switch so they are not daisy chained. I'm at day 4 of seedlings, I have the sf2000 at 40% and the sf1000 at 50watts (50%), both at 30 inches. Does this sound reasonable? What would you recommend? Thanks
@TheHippieGeeks3 жыл бұрын
Those sound like decent numbers to start out with, just watch the plants and see what they are telling you. If they are stretching up tall too quickly they probably want more light, if they are bleaching out and bending away from the light it can be too much.
