SFO Airport Air Train RFW from Long Term Parking to BART Garage. 7/22/24

I had just gotten off American Airlines flying from JFK and thought I’d take a look at this mode of transport around the airport.  It’s comparable to the JFK AirTrain, but it’s not as long and doesn’t travel as fast. An interesting ride nevertheless.

The JfK AirTrain opened around the same time as this line. I always wondered why the Port Authority chose to go with regular rail instead of the rubber wheel system as used by the SFO AirTrain? My best guess was because of the heavy snowfall in the NY area. Easier to clean the tracks?

Not sure as I didn’t exit any of the stations outside of the airport. In JFK it’s free within the airport.
