Huge like! I was doing it in matches with no time. I am still a big scrub at super silver, but I love learning this game. Videos like these are what the community needs!

Nice vid, also nice that you added that it could become a bad habit later on, because i think quite a few people, including myself just mindlessly delay tech every opportunity they get.

It helped a lot, now I can blow up delay techers.

I found this months ago, and I was like "yaaaaaaaaaaaa i don't think I'll need it yet". Just got destroyed by a Ryu, who was Delayed Teching. So yeah, don't leave for tomorrow the things you can do now

Thanks for the video, the names of these mechanics make them seem way more complicated than they really are lol. Can you get punished for shimmying someone who didn't delay tech, or do you just lose space for doing it?
@Hushfield3 жыл бұрын
Usually you don't do anything super unsafe when shimmying. Your opponent could make a hard read and hit you with a low attack like cr.MK when you're backwalking. But that's probably only going to happen if you shimmied them a few times earlier, at which point you should be looking to switch it up anyway by going for a delay button or something. In short: yes, you could be punished for it, but that's usually a read from the opponent and you're not going to take a ton of damage for it. The rewards are definitely worth the risk.

Hey man. Thank you. This is an amazing video. Please forgive my noob question. Does this still count from an opponent jumping in and I block the first hit. But when they land they follow up with other buttons. If I hold back (not downback) does the same principle still apply ?
@Hushfield4 жыл бұрын
Hi Danny. Yeah, if they jump in (often with a light button to minimize blockstun) and immediately want to throw you, blocking standing and doing the delay tech at the same timing should work. The "correct" answer is just to anti-air them, but sometimes you're just a bit too late and then blocking and delay-teching like you described works just fine.

God I love abusing peoples delay tech habits hahaha. The risk reward is so bad when your playing stronger players might as well take the throw
@exiaR2x784 жыл бұрын
@@hardmadeira2104 its more that it sucks if your used to SF4. Crouch teching removed a lot of the mind games of normal throw cause you could just os it. Throws also aren't all the rewarding you get a little bit of damage and its back to neutral
@exiaR2x784 жыл бұрын
@@hardmadeira2104 every fighting game has an element of guessing and reads. Cashing out damage and conditioning to set up shimmys later. Landing the throw itself isnt rewarding the conditioning ect is.
@exiaR2x784 жыл бұрын
@@hardmadeira2104 thats a scrub mentality lol theres a reason why people are consistent winning.
