They act like people don't know this. This is NO different than the way the United States Government and economy views the minority and Black consumer in particular. They like your dollar amount, it was never about them liking you. So many examples from Tommy Hilfiger in the 90s to the more recent supposed Gucci issue. Yall running out of topics to discuss now that Kawhi has signed and that's not the headline of speculation every day. Do better!!

The fan in Indiana or Toronto has to understand MOST players in the NBA are just there because of money, right? Millenials aren't that dumb to actually think black guys would want to live in those places? It's a high paying job, doing something you like, that's why they are there, but as you see, they will leave millions on the table to go to LA, but let's be real Toronto, Indiana, Cleveland...it ain't LA baby! If you were rich, chances are you would have a house out here too!

OK but we only make these arguments when star players move. If Anthony Davis didn't live up to being number one pick NO would have moved him (fultz, Bennett) there are like 7 star players in the league. The overwhelming majority of players would be happy to stay with their teams, but they got traded. It's either you ban all trades or accept player movement as it goes both ways

@@rodderzjay358 You're an idiot. Players dont deserve to get paid if they dont produce. People don't want to admit it because we hate rich owners so much, but most players are just stealing the money from the owners. Most of these players don't deserve this money, in fact none of them do. We complain about ceo money and they get less than these athletes and do far more for the economy and for people.

Did you get to choose where you work? I assume you'd be down for no team trades either because the players have families and kids who are in school and all kinds of other things too. Just food for thought. I know a few NBA players and those are some of the things they think about when moving teams. Most probably would stay put if they got to choose right from the start.

The NBA is just like a movie. You need a narrative, a story, intrigue, an antagonist, a protaganist, a superhero, a supervillain. Every person who plays or follows the NBA sees themselves as one of those stories and views others as the opposite. If this player movement continues, you ain't seen nothing yet. Imagine in 15 years we are no longer the NBA but the GBA. Global Basketball League. Now stars are not just going to LA or NY. Now they are going or being traded to London, Madrid, Paris, Mexico City, Lima, Rio De Janeiro, Beijing, Tokyo.
@kant5696
@kant5696 5 жыл бұрын
cuatro cinco I can definitely see it happening especially with the rise of skilled international players. But you hit it right on the head with sayin it’s like a movie. Lebron goes to Miami, he’s the villain. Dirk the lone star in Dallas who got beat in 06 by Miami, he the hero. Durant leaves for warriors after they beat him, he’s the villain. Everyone feels sorry for Westbrook so now he goes all out with triple doubles (a lil stay paddin in my opinion) to say I didn’t need KD I’m still good.

Marcellus and Stephen seemed like they could care less what a fan thinks while Whitlock seemed a bit sympathetic to the average fan. I hear what the other two are talking about, player this and player that. But again, if you are making that kind of money its going to be hard for the average fan to be understanding when you constantly complain about your "struggle" against the owners. That's because in the NFL it's usually the owners and GMs who do the player movement and players are at the mercy of them. Fans get in their feelings when the NBA players have more control in where they go. I'll take the NBA over NFL any day in that regard.

I have to say, as a long time Los Angeles resident, this is probably the most excited I have been about the NBA ever! We probably have 2 of the best 4 teams, if not 1 and 2 in the league in the same building. The NBA fan in Kansas is more than likely a Lakers fan anyway, so Los Angeles getting all these great players, big markets like Brooklyn, Frisco, Houston getting players is way better than Indiana getting them.

So what happens if jersey sales go down because people get afraid that their 1 year or 2 year old jersey that they spent $100+ on becomes irrelevant because the player is no longer on that team? Ask D-Wade what he thinks about all the jerseys he accumulated over his last year.

I think that there should be more of a barrier between fans and players. When a player jumps out of bounds to save a ball, he lands on fans! I think there should be more space or an actual barrier or short movable wall, like in soccer. I think having people like Shaq diving into the stands is not safe for anyone, player or fan. I think that would be more fan and player friendly...

Couldn't disagree more. You root for the TEAM, the COLORS, the LOGO, not for the players. Players come and go, and if you stop supporting a team because the best players just left to join another team, well... that makes you a bandwagoner, jumping from team to team depending on who has the strongest roster.

The more I think about it. They are all wrong. The fans are what make all sport's. We only have the NBA because someone wants to watch the best of the best compete. The world doesn't need NBA players or any other sport to live. This is entertainment which means you need someone to entertain (fans). So to think that it's not about the fans your crazy
