Shifting Gears Episode 13 - 2009 Chevrolet HHR Turn Signal Fix
In this episode, we fix a turn signal stalk that won't click off after turning the steering wheel. This is a ZERO COST repair! It uses minimal tools and there are no parts to buy! This fix will work for several other GM models as well.

The details that would have helped with the connectors were out of camera focus... Overall camera work could be improved. But thanks for sharing the general information.

7:14 you failed to share the fact the stalk clips need to be manually pushed up to lock the stalk back in place. They don’t automatically snap into place when you push in the turn-signal stalk. The lack of this info delayed my repair and I had to find that specific info from another channel.

Do you know how to set the lights on signal again, I mean when you get off, there should be a sound that your lights are not turned off, something is wrong with me

On the HHR, all warning sounds are controlled by the body control module and output to the front left door speaker. If yours is not making a sound, I would check the speaker first to see if it is working. If it is working, the little circuit board in the turn signal stalk itself might be damaged, in which case the switch (stalk) would need to be replaced. If these two less expensive solutions don't solve the problem, then the body control module will be the last resort. Most likely it would need a reprogram unless parts of the circuit board are fried, in which case it would need to be replaced and the new one programmed. Also, one thing to think about is that the daytime running lights are on by default. When you turn off the car, they stay on for 30 seconds to a minute and they won't cause a warning sound. Try turning the lights on manually with the car on, turn the car off, take the key out of the ignition and open the door. This is when you should hear the warning tone.

I gotta a question mine chevy hhr 2006 is knock when I drive around lots. I just repair the engine putting every band new. But it still knock, not losses oil pressure. I can't figure out why it knock. Please help me

Does it knock while stopped at an idle, or only when you are driving?

I have the same problem but i have another one too my left turn signal wont stay down to stay on . The signal works but i have to hold it down to make it work it wont stay down on its own ?

The little plastic catch is probably broken or worn down too much to work. There is no fix for that. The switch will have to be replaced. Same process to take out the old one and put a new one in as shown in the video. You just won't be taking the old one apart.
