Sometimes I highly wish I wasn't deprived of games as a kid by my parents. This game looks so fun to play and I missed out on so much because I didn't get anything until I was 10 and I got a DSi.

I had a lot of old game systems but my library was very small so I didn't get to play any of these either. I usually had around 6 games to play until I got my xbox 360.

Personally I like how Double Dash controls more than the later Mario Karts. The later ones feel kinda stiff while Double Dash feels more like I'm playing an arcade racer, and overall feels more frantic. I mean, heck, the majority of my time in 150cc of MK8 was spent just casually driving while holding an item behind me. Unless I was losing. Then I was casually driving while waiting for the game to give me something that I could use to catch up. Also, I'm surprised you guys don't like DK Mountain. That's pretty much everyone's favorite level.

love whistling along to Sherbet Land's theme :) MK8 adds a bit by making multiple pathways and making the freezies MUCH easier to avoid, DK mountain is better on wii as well since you can actually do the jumps, only recently discovered the short cut on the hair pis despite this being the mario kart I played most, DLC Yoshi circuit looks great and the first jump shortcut is much easier but I miss the really hidden tunnel one :(

***** I didn't know how popular this track was. Also, I thought that they were going for an "every track gets remade only once" mentality, but I guess not, since this track and SNES Rainbow Road (remade in MK7) are brought back as DLC courses. At this rate, I'll never see my desired Sunset Wilds remake... :(

Eccentrigamer They were going for that mentality? I never played Mario Kart 7 and only played Wii briefly so I only know what's in 8. And I was making an educated guess. Nintendo's pretty good at pleasing their fans.

***** They are good at that. Also, yeah, there have never been retro track repeats until now. Although, part of me is glad, as otherwise the only N64 track we'd ever get to see remade again is Wario Stadium, since all of the others were remade already.
