Johnny, if you change the course option from "choose" to "in order", all you have to do then is select the first track of the cup and it will automatically play the rest in order. Also... have you tried using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck control? I think it's the best way to play the game, and doesn't require you to move your fingers to reach different buttons like the Classic and GameCube controllers do. Also also, that wasn't your teammate that hit you in that battle. In Wii, you can't harm you teammates (something I wish was done in EVERY Mario Kart game...) Also also also, you can carry an item and pick up another one in Mario Kart 7. That was the last to let you do that.

Mario Kart 7 lets you put an item behind you and grab another one. Very very useful when you're playing on All Shells, happen to get 7, then luckily get a blue shell in your stock and then everyone just stays behind you.

I LOVE Mario Kart Wii! Even if the bikes were better than the karts in every way, your skills meant very much when it came to online races. I've spent so many hours online and would consider myself a pro at this game. Mario Kart 8 is great too, but a little easy and basic to me.

YAAAAY! More Mario Kart! Honestly, I don't really like Mario Kart Wii. It's not a bad game (hell, I'll even say it has to best Battle Mode in the series thus far) but it's just a bunch of things that make me not like it very much like the bikes being OP compared to karts, the ridiculous rubberbanding A.I. and some items being either not that great or just infuriating (looking at you, you stupid cloud!).

Doing tricks with the classic controller should require you to use the entire D-pad; there should be a different trick mapped to each direction since the tricks were designed with wheel adapter for the wii-mote in mind...

This game is tied with 8 for my fav Mario Kart. People say the rubberbanding and blue shells are bad, but I honestly never had much of a problem with it, I found 7 to be much worse in that regard. I also think wii has the best rainbow road in the series.

Also I prefer the motion controls for Mario Kart Wii over the classic controller. Yeah, hate me if you want, but I do. But Nunchuk and Wii Remote was my go-to controller set-up.
