Hobby cane is so fiddly , but the results are so worth it. Black or silver will look equally as good , nice piece of work 😊

The thinner definitely looks better. Beautiful work. The bird you heard was a Grey Titmouse. There is a pair of them checking out the bird house in our plum tree. The male has been singing for several days now. Nesting time.

I think the hobby came is a good choice. Great to see your finished piece! Question: did you mention why you chose lead hobby came versus zinc for your border? I've watched the beginning twice but didn't catch that if you had mentioned it. BTW, love hearing the birds. They can really help put me in the zone.

Zinc is harder to bend plus the patina wouldn't have the same tone to match the rest of the solder lines.

I love the silver but just used patina on a piece and the black was not super dark so am curious to see how you would do it so I can learn where I messed up. Maybe water quality but unsure.
