Thanks for the video. Streamlight now makes the Wedge XT and it has a 500 lumen light, its an inch shorter and they got rid of the side button and swapped it with an end cap button. I wonder if that would change your mind from the Surefire if you are still carrying it.

If Surefire was like 25% cheaper with all their products I would consider buying them. Unfortunately their prices simply do not make sense to me.

I was able to find a stiletto on my military base for $100, it was only like $15 more than what I could find a wedge for online before shipping. I chose the stiletto. I usually get streamlights though.
@xiaoqixi69622 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comparison! I have chosen the Wedge after watching this video, because of it’s simpler operations and durability. On the other hand, all my defensive firearms already have weapon lights on them, so the tail button absence doesn’t really bother me.

Surefire seems a bit bulky for what I’m looking for. If I’m gonna carry that width I’m just gonna carry one of my other lights. I’d go streamlight for slimness and price!! Loved the video, great comparison!!

Just found this video, sorry for being late to the party. You can use the Wedge as a defensive light. The "FBI" or the "Rogers" technique work well with it. I usually prefer a light with the end-cap button, but the Wedge can offer defensive capabilities for environments that may require a more formal level of attire.

IMHO now. The "fatal flaw", to me, was the breaking during the drop test and being without a $200 piece of kit for a month. Is surefire better than streamlight? Maybe. Is it that much better to warrant the cost? Not a chance. Anything surefire you're paying 10% for the name alone. Thanks for the vid brother, you helped me make my decision. Streamlight. Was on boarding teams in the Navy, been a cop for 17 years now. This is just me, you do you, and I'm my departments armorer, I don't buy surefire just because their costs are prohibitively expensive for what you get.

Great video. Although similarly sized and performance. I think it’s important to point out they have different uses in mind. The stiletto pro seems to be more geared towards professional use (LEO,EMS, Fire), where the wedge is more for EDC among the average person. I think the wedge is a great EDC light if you view it like that. It has a wide throw which is perfect for everyday use. The stiletto pro is perfect for profesional use due to its throw.
@TiberiousGib2 жыл бұрын

I value the low light option on my Surefire Stiletto Pro. Not only does it save battery life but enables close work like document or map reading, in the dark. The lowest setting on the Streamlight Wedge is too bright for these applications. I frequently wear the Stiletto on the brim of my hat which the clip position of the Wedge does not allow. That said, the Stiletto pro would greatly benefit from a rougher surface for more positive grip
@TiberiousGib2 жыл бұрын

I love my wedge it’s perfect for work and most tasks, but I have to agree if it had a lower light option it would be the only light I would ever need. I tried to use it yesterday day to read a instruction manual and my god I couldn’t see for like 5 mins. I’m new to flashlights and didn’t realize that was a thing that could happen lol 300 lumens is way to much for reading.
@jasonbunce36432 жыл бұрын
Love how the fatal flaw was the lack of a button not the fact that the more expensive light broke and it took a month to replace shows you which company paid him more not a fair review a waste of time

First dont insult my integrity without having a clue of what your talking about. You are more then Welcome to ask if Surefire paid me and I’ll gladly give you an honest answer. Surefire has never given me a dollar or a free product, since this video Streamlight has given me a handful of free products. Stop and try to think for a second, if I was a Surefire shill would I have even told you that the light broke and it took for every to get it back?

I just can’t sell myself on the surefire. It takes up more real estate in the pocket and has too many buttons. With regard to the tail cap, I typically find them more awkward to use, but that’s just because of how I was trained. Lastly, I enjoyed the video, but you definitely pushed the Surefire (probably unknowingly) during the pros/cons when you harped in the made in China. That’s okay though. It’s your opinion and that’s why we tune in. Keep up the good work.
