With the polygon mode you can mix and match pretty easily. Works well with multiple consoles Xbox, PlayStation, PC & Nintendo whatever you want to play on.

I have 2 questions if you can help me please. 1)In my kitchen i have another router to cover all area in my house with wifi. i cant use ethernet cable from netduma to kitchen rooter but i have this choices in kitchen rooter:(router mode-reapeter mode-wisp mode-client mode-ap mode) what should i choose if i cant use ethernet cable from netduma to kitchen router? 2)If i put my PS5 on DMZ, do i have to enable UPNP too or no? Not sure about question 1. It's possible someone in the forums has a similar setup that may be able to help. Forum.netduma.com You should not DMZ and use UPnP at the same time. UPNP should work fine. You might need to reboot everything if you're using both currently. Take the console out of DMZ and you might have to reboot for UPnP to start picking things up.

If i Play COD, and my daughter plays Fortnight, both on different PCs at the same time, can i pick the geofilter for the COD server say in the UK, and the fortnight server in say Germany... Is this possible ? Will they connect to respective servers... and would both PCs fully utilise the features such as the ping optimiser at the same time when connecting to different servers? Or will this only be offered up to one PC.

Yeah you can do that. Doesn't matter what games or consoles you're on you can set everything up to work out for whatever you're set up is.

Hi ! Great video, I just received the R3 yesterday ad tried geofencing with Polygon mode but I haven't been able to delete the polygon zones ! would you know how to ? Also didn't seem to work on COD as I had saudi arabia and spain (ping assist off) but kept connecting to servers in France, NL or germany but maybe I missed a setting ? thanks !

Having the geofilter is a real game changer. I'm not a fan of Netgear stuff so I can't directly compare. My experience with the Netgear Nighthawk xr500 and their customer service was terrible so I won't buy another Netgear product ever again.

If you have an ISP modem then yes you would need to use bridge mode. I bought my own modem years ago so I didn't have to hassle with all that stuff. Definitely recommend getting your own modem if you can.

Hello I watched your couple of videos and it is really educated. ı have a question which can be a little long but please bear with me. I checked my buffer bloat from the sane website as yours and the max ms (not loaded and unloaded but the max) was 350-400ms so I bought cat5 cable and a typce to ethernet cable so that that ms spike might go but it did not, the ms is as same as wifi but I thought it would go down since its a cable connection, and I did this all with QOS settings as well, tried everything qos but that ms is not going and it spikes with or without the cable, what should I do?

There are a few possible causes. There are a few older modems out there that have a puma 6 chip in them that are terrible for gaming and cause problems. Check if your modem has that particular chip. Also could be a line issue. The line running to your place could be old or just in need of service. Also having too many splitters on your cable connection can cause issues. Hope that's helpful!

Thanks again for this! Your videos got me to make the switch! My preorder R3 arrived and I'll be setting it up over the weekend. I currently have the XR1000 and have my WiFi 2.4 & 5 separated. Would you do the same for the R3 or is a "blended" WiFi setup the way to go? Thanks again!

You can by making custom profiles. This isn't necessary NetDumas profiles are already customized to be the best.

Should be better than the XR. You could always add the XR as an access point for even more Wi-Fi coverage. The R3 reaches everywhere in my two-story place with ease.

I set up my filter i am in range of my nearest filter only (German Server) however it alway finds a game on switzerland server, which isnt even in my range. Even if i set my range to 10km and no server is in range it takes me to switzerland server, i even klicked deny server (it told me it will prevent me on getting on the server again) however i still get this server. I dont know what to do anymore.

Turn off the device. Go to geofilter settings and turn off Geo latency filtering. Wait a couple minutes and turn the device back on. If that doesn't work report the server to netduma as sometimes they still need to be whitelisted.

i play on ps5 and just got the r3. The speed test and the ping optimizer are both not working. Any ideas?

They both use an outside service that sometimes can go down. For now you can go to speed test advanced and put in your speeds. Then adjust your ping optimizer congestion control to 70/70. There will be a video Friday showcasing how to use ping optimizer.

Yes you will still need your own modem. The R3 has made a bunch of improvements and even more are coming.

Help. NetdumaR3 isbottlenecking my Internet when I went to update or download my games i am getting 3-5 mb/s my internet speed is 900/900. The netduma work great for gaming but its bottlenecking my downloads and uploads on pc when not gaming.

🤔 haven't heard anyone complain of that before. Sounds weird but try pausing ad blocker for the PC and see if the download picks up. Maybe geo latency is blocking a server? If the ad block thing doesn't work go to the geofilter for the PC click the drop-down menu turn off Geo latency make sure you're not filtering anything and reboot the PC. Go into ping optimizer advanced settings and make sure it's set to auto. Smart boost/ Add scroll over to WEB scroll down and choose steam store. If none of those things work then I'm at a loss hit up the forums. Forum.netduma.com Good luck 🍀

@@LowPingKing yes no joy it works when i play on my own mostly but after a hour or 2 gaming the game just picks any server it wants even when i click x and say no to the server it still loads into the same server next time , and if you join any one else you have no control its a shame i hope it fixed cos as you say in your vids this is there main thing that we love and it just not working if you on pc and you add call of duty (series) as the game ,the old geo filter always held you in the area but i remember we had to put our pc as a console and it worked i tried the same thing and it don't work , so just out of ideas

@@LowPingKing thanks for getting back to me , yes i not signed up to talk in there , i think i have to , i do see a guy called Stobbart post saying geo filter not working and no ping same problem im having and he had no replys so i think they dont know how fix it ether , it a shame i was champing this router to 3 friends and when i went to show them it just didnt work lol i felt bit silly but im a big boy so i can take it :) it just a shame its not as strong as the old geo filter yet , i keep fingers crossed i hate to have to go back to the old xr500 :)

@retromercer4758 I know it works. Plenty of people in the beta foums are using it on PC. I'm just not sure exactly how to set things up cuz like I said previously I don't play PC games. My Xbox series X and Nintendo switch are both working flawlessly. Sometimes the geofilter can fall out of sync with the cloud. I've seen this once with the R3. Shutting down the game & resyncing cloud in the geofilter and waiting a couple minutes fix the issue.

I’ve noticed that when gaming is active sometimes the gaming feature on the qos wont light up it’ll say offline and for the devices the same when added even steady ping will not always turn on like what the heck is wrong

If the game isn't supported then it won't light up. Devices can go on and off depending on traffic. Some servers have difficulty with Steady Ping normally going to expert mode and back again fixes it. What are you gaming on? What games are you playing the most?

On Series X myself. Play lots of MW3 TDM USA. MW3 definitely works but some servers like Oklahoma have trouble with Steady Ping. Fortnight isn't my thing but I know other beta testers that play and it's been working well for them. Go to Xbox network settings, advanced and turn on the qos. On R3 add gaming as your top priority. If you watch streaming services put video and streaming right below that. Add your Xbox to the device list. Xbox "Device" will go on and off. When in a game it should remain on. Gaming tab should light up once you've launched into a game. Devices and gaming will go on and off if you're just sitting on a menu. If for some reason Gaming doesn't light up when launched into a game then try resyncing the cloud under device manager on the R3.

You wouldn't really need it for the quality of service although it would help. The geofilter is the bigger feature that gamers should be paying attention to. Depending on what games you play the servers can be pretty far away and cause high ping/lag. The geofilter allows you to find the best servers for the games you play and stick with those. So if you end up in a lot of laggy games I want to prevent that then yes I recommend the R3 but if you're just a casual gamer and don't care so much about the occasional lag maybe spend your money elsewhere.

You don't need much more than that. Unless you're downloading lots of games DVDs TV shows then I guess it's understandable. You could always just the R3 on top of your existing router and allow it to do its geofiltering.

What? The Geofilter works for every single game. It's never had any problems with COD. It did stop working for games like Halo a few years ago but they fixed that with the R3.
