Final Honors 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Sergeant Chad Elliott Jenson - beloved son, brother, husband, stepfather, and United States Marine.
Sgt Chad Jenson was one of the Heroes that tragically perished in the crash of a KC-130 transport plane in rural Mississippi on July 10, 2017. The crash resulted in the deaths of all on board, 15 Marines and one Navy Corpsman. The flight had originated from MCAS Cherry Point, NC.
Chad grew up in Redondo Beach, where his family still resides. He attended Mira Costa High School and helped lead the school's football team to a championship in 2009. Chad was deeply admired for his selflessness and unwavering optimism by teammates, coaches, and teachers alike.
Chad had a deep desire to serve his country and he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in September 2010 after graduating from high school. In 2013, Chad joined the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command and by 2014, he attained the rank of Sergeant - a remarkable accomplishment for any enlisted member of the military. He proudly served with the elite 2d Raider Battalion, Special Operations Command which was based at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Chad was a critical skills operator and was awaiting his first deployment.
Throughout his tenure, Chad once again gained the admiration of his teammates and friends by perfecting his own skills and consistently improving his mind and body. He maintained a high standard of integrity which he shared with those around him. Chad was a fitness enthusiast, to say the least, and a regular at the New River HITT Center. You could say it was his second home.
His awards include a U.S. Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, A Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Meritorious Unit commendation, two certificates of commendation, three letters of appreciation and two meritorious masts. Chad was the embodiment of the U.S. Marine Corp' values: honor, courage, and commitment.
Chad is survived by his parents, Robert and Susan Jenson, his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Courtney Jenson, his wife, Jessica, and stepson, Jackson.
Chad lived his life as a patriotic, selfless and caring man who served his community and his nation.

My Dad died almost a month ago. He was a Korean War Survivor. The VFW and American Legion gave him a 21 gun salute and one of them gave my Mom a flag with 13 folds. It brought tears to my eyes. Chad. Thank you for your service to our country.

Amen brother. As a Air Force Veteran, we get the brunt of the crap and we deserve it for how we live and serve but I'm always the 1st person to say that, We are all on the same team in the end and I have the highest level of respect for my fellow brothers in other branches. My father is a 82nd Airborne Ranger who served and received 2 PH in Korea. Out of 48 members in my extended family, I am the only Air Force Veteran. To the young Marine who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the American way of life, Rest easy Marine, we got the watch now. RIP Marine 🙏

There's a growing number of fascists in this country (as recently witnessed with the attack on our nation's capital). They're typically affiliated with one or more of the radical right organizations like the Alt Right, Far Right and John Bircher Society, and include neo-Nahtzees, Klan, White Supremacists, Aryan Nation, Proud Boys, Boogaloo Boys, etc... Most are adherents to the ideology of America's version of the "National Socialists Workers Party" now referring to itself as "The National Socialist Movement" (archive.is/inkbA). They like to wear military regalia but few of these traitors have actually served anything but themselves much less our country. While they're quick to act like patriots (always quick to hide behind America's national symbols, claiming to support law enforcement and veterans, first responders, etc...), it's really just a ruse designed to enlist more support from mainstream America. "...when fascism comes to America it will wrap itself in the American Flag, carry a Bible and herald itself as a plea for Liberty and preservation of the Constitution.." - James Waterman Wise, 1936 (paraphrased). Sound Familiar? The reality is that they're all Closet Fascists intent on undermining and eventually destroying our democracy and installing a despotic demagogue. They have secretly avowed never to follow an egalitarian application of our constitution (which is the deeper reason for their angst), and will never accept sharing this land with what they refer to as "Untermenschen". They're growing and by design have now infected the government, law enforcement and even our military. It could very well happen that in the near future the Marine Corp will be democracy's last bastion of hope to keep our nation free from the Iron Grip of fascism. Buckle up, it's going to be an ugly ride but FREEDOM will prevail over FASCISM once again. The Marine Corp ROCKS!!!!!!!!

@@plucas9324 that doesn’t mean he didn’t lay down his life for anyone. He layed down his life with his brother fighting for his country even if it was a helicopter crash he was still fighting for our freedom and for his family and friends.

I come from a Military Family and when someone says something bad about the Armed Forces I don't take it lightly in a matter of fact No One Should Take it lightly when someone talks bad about the Armed Forces.

It is very disrespectful for them to speak ill of the Armed Forces. However, they have the same freedom of speech that my brothers and I put our lives on the line for. Tom Prosser, you are not an appointed judge, so you don't get to decide the sentence for people who speak ill of anyone. You can be angry about it, but there is not a damn thing you can do legally about anyone exercising their freedom of speech.

The hurt is that they are no more, never will be again.. cherish your loved ones as God taught us to. Be thankful for how long you've had them, learn to forgive, be at peace with all because tomorrow is never guaranteed. Why not end on a good note, instead of regret for not saying sorry? God bless

I'm glad to see how things have changed since I took Brother Jose home 41yr ago. He was a Vietnam War Hero who reenlisted as a Pvt to come back to ANGLICO. They let me get off the plane 1st so I could get his crate on to the conveyor truck. The priest noted in his citation for the Silver Star when the helicopter on board which he was a passenger was struck by Enemy Fire Cpl Hernandez unhesantly exposed himself to intense Enemy Fire as he remained open to administer first aid to Several Vietnamese Marines and assisted them to reach Cover. I would like to thank the Soldiers from Fort Bliss for providing the Rifle Squad! The Major from the I&I staff stayed with me and the cemetery staff till the end. Semper Fi!
