The biggest problem for Japanese people, for example, is that they can't have serious conversations and dive into their own government issue like this with friends. When it comes to talking about the economy or their own politics, they always try to avoid it. In other words, they try to escape from reality and turn a blind eye to each other even though they are aware of it, they try not to change and keep the present. I believe that come from the differ between education system especially universities in Japan and the U.S. This is one of the causes of the economic slowdown in Japan.
I agree overall but I just feel weird that you guys talking based on "Japan should be like America" "Japan is not there yet" idea. They are completely different countries with different culture background mindset as you say, and probably not necessary trying to go to the same direction.

They worry about the future of Japan. It’s not that they’re saying it’s a right thing to follow the states or whatever. They are saying that Japan is too afraid of foreigners coming into the country, although we are out of people. They’re not talking about just culture difference, but future plan or strategy.

@@na281 and that future plan or strategy not necessary need to follow Americans. Like they said, foreigners needs to be in the system(戸籍 Koseki=Family register) in order for foreigners to be fairly treated in Japan and that system needs to be relaxed or less strict in a future but Racial Discrimination is also a huge social problem in the U.S, which I believe it's coz of a lots of immigrants. Thus, it needs to be well balanced.

Is there like で、そういう要素ある?
It was an interesting discussion from start to finish, with very important questions. I also believe that one of the reasons for the declining birthrate is that the working environment has not been improved at all compared to other countries. It is also more closed than the G7 countries. There are historical trends, but I think it is undeniable that it is nationalistic racism. Also, many Japanese people may be different from other countries in that they think their country's ideology and identity are on the same things, hoping for the betterment of the Japanese people as a whole. In any case, I believe that the task for the future is to properly organize immigration policy. I think...

i think so. I'm sure the japanese tends to hate making things clear and fair by making rules. that's one of the problems to solve, in my opinion.

I really like to listen to talk videos of オースティンとアーサー! Thank you so much for the interesting topics❤ But I'm wondering why I can understand what both of you said although I can't understand what people said in native speaker's talk videos. are there any tricks?
It's a great conversation. Both of you guys should become members of the Diet and make Japan a better country! We don't have any proper political parties or members of the Diet. . .

I agree for the most part, but I have my doubts about some opinions because a prerequisite are wrong. It is that Austin said "In 2030, It's over 60% of the population will be over 60 years old.". But according to the materials of National Institute Of Population and Social Security Research, the percentage will stay at 37.8% (45,398,845/120,115,780).

Thanks for the video. And I am truly grateful for your thoughts on Japanese society. I really appreciate it as a shameful Japanese guy. I am currently working here in Chicago. I think I am having a kind of same feeling for the society in Japan just as you guys do. However I just laughed at the TOXIC working environment!! Because it might be true.
。。 We heard too many cans of worms today! But that's exactly how Japan is now....
Japan : Good at making things get better but doesn't get a first head. US : Country of the firsts in pretty much every field or industry but quality is not satisfactory.

Three years ago, I drove to Suzu City, which had been severely damaged by the recent earthquake. The area was depopulated with few gas stations, making refueling difficult. Even without the disaster, reducing the number of gas stations in such areas seems inevitable. I anticipate that electric vehicles might become the only viable option in the near future for the countryside of Japan.
