Now, THIS is the video I've been wanting. Shows in detail the exact parting sections. How to line them all up and how much to cut off each section. Finally, someone shows it on straight hair so we can see the layers. Plus, there are no minutes of talking and no cutting. All the other videos show wavy hair cutting. Personally, for my hair, I would do a little point cutting on the front 2 but leave the back thicker and blunter since my hair is fine and the ends need to look thicker. I have curls in the front, and the rest is wavy, so this cut needs zero styling for me. Just air dry and go. Perfect video!

Just don't do the thinning cuts he does. He does the point cutting, which you probably do want so that it doesn't look "homemade." But then he also does these thinning cuts down the sides of the pony tails. Those will give it that sparse appearance you don't prefer. They're also really easy to mess up and end up with a patch cut out of your layer 😢

@@codename495 No...just frustrated bc I can't find even one good Hair Stylist and been searching for years...finally gave up and let my hair grow and loved it...then this old school layered face framing bangs thing came out and totally tempted me...they ruined my hair cut 6 inches off in one cut!!! Then, made it soooo thin of the ends...that razor cutting of the ends is just not for everyone I guess...I don't like on anyone myself, but we all have our own opinions. I love your channel tho...trying to just learn to cut my own hair from now on. Wish you were near me as I think you are very good at what you do...though I wish more would listen to their clients, everyone is different.

You don't have to point cut or use thinning sheers to remove the weight. Just cut a blunt cut if you want more weight at the ends.

Point cutting was way too deep and thinning shears were unnecessary, both made the ends look brittle, thin, stringy, and damaged. This hair already looks in desperate need of a trim. Ends need to be far more blunted to look fresh, clean and healthy, (especially with coarse hair).
