Shabbat Prep Routine Will I Make It In Time? Room Makeover Cook With Me Clean With Me Orthodox Jewish Guest Room Makeover
We have been super busy this week. Events every night of the week including my husbands birthday 🥳. Wish him a Happy Birthday in the comments❤️. On this particular Thursday we had a sheva brachot to go to do it was a mad rush to get everything ready before we had to leave for the event.
I’ll take you along in this video and show you what sort of Shabbat Menu I make when I am short on time and how I pace myself. I’ll also take you along on a Guest room Tour and makeover.

Recipes:
Basmati Rice:
2 Cups Basmati Rice washed and drained
2.5 Cups of Water
Salt
2 tbsp Of Oil
Mix everything, cover with foil and bake at 400F for 45 minutes.
Duck Sauce Chicken:
Wash and dry a whole Chicken
Season with Salt and Paprika to taste
Add in Duck sauce and smear through out the entire chicken
Bake Covered at 400F for 1.5 hours, uncovering half way through for a golden color.
Salmon Teriyaki:
Smear sesame Teriyaki sauce over the salmon and bake at 400F for about 15-20 minutes covered.
Zucchini Cake:
Shred 3-4 Zucchinis
Add in 4 eggs
1/3 cup of all purpose flour
S/P to taste
Mix all of the above ingredients and smear onto a baking pan. Bake at 350F for about 20-25 minutes until set.
Separately make the garlic mayo:
.5 Cup mayo
4 garlic cloves
S/P
2 tbsp dill
Smear the garlic mayo onto the zucchini.

Wonderful video. I am a 69 year old Bubbe and so enjoy you. I have gotten lots of ideas from you that I use for my grandchildren. Thank you for what you do. I am doing my best to teach my grandchildren about the Jewish part of their heritage, as their mother is of a different faith. She wants this for her children, but just doesn’t know what to do. So I am relearning old things, and learning new ones. Hebrew school is not a substitute for having a Jewish home.

Sonya, I’m 63 years old and it took you to convince me to start my cooking in a clean and tidy kitchen . I will be canning salsa in the morning so I did all of my chopping tonight. Such a beautiful shabbat table. It’s nice to be able to use your vegetables that you grew. Mine garden was doing so well in the spring but here in North Carolina it gets hot and you have to just try to keep the plants alive in the summer until it gets cooler in late September.

The guest room looks so much better! I’d recommend moving the curtain rod up further closer to the ceiling and getting new curtains to really transform it and make it look more spacious but if you’re happy with it then it’s all good

Shabbat Shalom to you and your family as well! The slicing plate in the food processor is a frequently used tool in our kitchen as well. I like to use it for homemade potato chips, as it gets the slices thinner than what I could slice by hand. Have a blessed week!

Love the guest room makeover, it has a very spa-like feel to it. I also like having a nice guest room in my home…many of my own guests sheepishly admit it’s nicer than their own room at home, and your guests will too! The water was a really nice touch but wait…no mini-fridge?!!! Must rate this an “A”instead of Sonya’s usual “A Plus” (Kidding!) Always love seeing the prep kids helping, and it seems as if the girls will soon be taking over the kitchen, Mommy. I've heard of Helix. I wish I had a better mattress. And I sleep on a twin XL bed. It's like I'm in a dorm. I'm pre-heating my oven. I'm having shrimp tonight. From Trader Joe's. With a honey sauce. It's so good. I'm thankful for a bed though. It came with the place. A long with a dresser and kitchen table and chairs. We also got a welcome care package with basic pots and pans (I eventually replaced), and dishes and stuff.

I enjoy your videos. We are not Kosher in our home, but if I were younger I would consider it after learning so much from you. We do, however, welcome in the Sabbath. It is a wonderful way to end one week and cleanly start a new week. My children are grown with families of their own. That said, as a senior citizen now, I still learn new recipes from you. Thank you. I was a working mother. I just don't know how you get it all done! You are truly amazing!

I love everything about your channel; all the cooking tips; organization (I am buying those ziploc organizers); your routine.
