Robin, I have come to enjoy your videos and your style. I’m getting so much from you, and hope you continue your generous teaching. I’m 75 and just beginning to learn the process. Old fabrics and laces have always caught my eye, plus I started a button collection awhile ago. I love the way you present a collection of buttons on paper. I’m hoping to emulate that feature. Sure wish I could go to Sun Valley! What a dreamy place. I’ve been there twice but long ago.

Yes...Some good old fashion hand sewing. My mom taught me how to sew by hand & iron when I was 8 years old, but that was the good old days, which I really miss, but my parents & grandparents are truly the good old days, since my parents were born in the 1920's & my grandparents were born in the late 1800's...WOW & I'm kind of giving my age away, LOL, but I don't mind because I'm okay with my age, I just wish I had more of their belongings & mine, now that bothers me, but I do have a few things. Anyway, I would love some of those antique lace & fabric bundles & thank you for asking us because I know I love the laces & fabrics that you use in your crafts, they are all created so beautifully! Take care, Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year, Lily

I learnt to sew as well as a child, around age 5, and learned lots of embroidery stitches. Then I got my nan's hand turning singer sewing machine when i was around 6 and learned to machine stitch as well. My dad taught me as he had been a machinist following world war 2, military clothing etc. My mum was a knitter, but I am not a great knitter at all! But I can do basic squares so do knit cotton dishcloths or blanket squares. I taught my daughter everything I was taught! Baking, sewing, embroidery, cross stitch, drawing, diy, housework, laying a table, laundry, budgeting, gardening, cooking, everything a woman needs to run a home! Which these days is considered sexist! RUBBISH! How can showing and educating a young woman to be capable, self sufficient, efficient, resourceful and thrifty, be anything OTHER than empowering? The world's going to pot! Young Victorian children could embroider the alphabet, more neatly than ours can write them! I was reading lengthy books with no pictures in by age 6, these days even school leavers struggle with spelling and reading! My dad is 86 next week, he sells his own paintings and still does DIY and woodwork! All this modern day man-hating feminism has ruined the capabilities of today's young females! It's undermined them, not strengthened them! My daughter is 31 next week (christmas eve, same day as my Dad in fact! 😁) and she manages a large house and 5 children, who she also teaches baking and crafting to! The kids are always clean, nicely dressed, well fed with home cooked meals, and live in a beautiful, clean, tidy, organised home! The traditional, considered old fashioned, female role is disappearing fast, and all because suffragettes fought for equality, but today's aggressive young women have warped into feminazis! With no skills! More dependent on others than ever before! And they think THAT is empowering??? If you can turn your hand to anything, you have everything you need in life and way more than money can buy! 😘😘😘

It's for knitting dishcloths! Well that's how it's labeled in my local store! (UK) I buy it all the time for hand sewing exactly like you have used it, embellishments etc. I use my awl to pierce thick paper first to pass the needle through, stops the risk of jabbing yourself or bending the needle. I just bought some doll needles, luckily a multi pack because the biggest is around 8 inches! The smallest is 4 inches and is perfect for things like this. Lovely page! 😊😊😊
